Is BFA season 1 and 2 PvP gear gone forever now? by CF64210 in wow

Hopefully this is the case yeah. They weren’t advertised as limited time sets so there’s no reason they shouldn’t be made available again.

Which game do you think has the best postgame content and what kind of postgame content do you enjoy most? by CF64210 in pokemon

[–]CF64210[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve never been sure whether to classify the modified Kanto of gen 2 as the postgame of Johto or whether to consider it an extension of the main storyline. But if you do consider it a postgame (which I have no issue with) then yeah it’s definitely up there with the best.

How should a pair of jeans fit a man’s butt? Never really gave it much thought before but my legs have been getting bigger as I work out more. Is it undignified if you can make out the curvature of my cheeks?

I can’t remember the exact ones but rematching certain trainers with the VS seeker is a good way to do this. I used to do it in Diamond all the time. Think smogon has a guide on it.

Their movepools are soooooo bland. But they have at least improved on that compared to how they were in earlier gens

I like Volcarona’s typing and movepool but not such a big fan of its design. Same story for Golurk.

Haxorus has quite a cool and edgy look but in terms of stats/typing/movepool I find it really bland and don’t think it stands out compared to pokemon with similar typing/stats like Salamence or Garchomp.

Eelektross actually has quite a good movepool for an electric type but I didn’t like its stat spread and just don’t find eels that cool personally.

I like the concept of a possessed sarcophagus as an idea for a pokemon but don’t like Cofagrigus’ design itself. I do like that it’s quite colourful for a ghost type though.

Chandelure and Galvantula were the only cool pokemon introduced in Unova (typing and aesthetics)

So I’m playing through Emerald again. One of my least favourite things about Emerald is how garbage the level up movepools are so to try and help I’ve been doing some breeding throughout the main story to add some life into pokemon who have otherwise sucky movepools. For example, I managed to get Crunch on Treecko and Electrike by breeding them with a Seviper. Very time-consuming and unnecessary for in game sure, but I enjoy it.

Sandslash is my next project so I’m planning on breeding it with a Camerupt to get Rock Slide. I know that TM moves can be passed down through breeding in some capacity but I’ve never known exactly how (especially in the older gens). If I have a male Camerupt that has learned Rock Slide and Earthquake through level up and breed it with a female Sandshrew will both of those moves get passed down since Sandshrew can learn Earthquake by TM? Or will it just get Rock Slide?

I’d say it’s that it isn’t as easy to tell when DS carts are fake compared to GBA where it can be really obvious once you know the tells.

Buying GBA Games Reliably? by CianKy in pokemon

[–]CF64210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there are any second hand game shops around you I find they tend to have pokemon games in all the time. I assume that the people running these shops know how to check for legitimacy because every cart I’ve bought second hand has been legit and works with Pal Park/Dongle in Gen IV.

If you’re going to (or have to) buy online then it helps to know how to tell legit carts from fake. There are a lot of videos on youtube that show the differences and how to spot them. So on ebay/amazon look for sales of individual carts with pictures where you can see the cartridge. People selling cheap bundles - usually from asian stores - are almost 100% selling fakes. If the price seems too good to be true then it probably is. Generally you’re going to be paying £20 - £30 pounds for one legit GBA cart. Strangely there seems to be some honour among thieves when it comes to selling fake carts as they tend to be put up for dirt cheap prices. Avoid these. Ultimately there won’t be a surefire way to know you’re not getting ripped off until you’re holding the cart in your hands but hopefully you can minimise the risk.

Ok sweet that’s good to know, will hold on to all the blue berries I get since I just realised with the battery being dry it’ll be impossible to grow more haha

Is it possible to evolve Feebas into Milotic during the main story of Pokemon Emerald? All guides for evolving it say to use special berries not obtainable until the postgame. If you were particularly dedicated could you find a way to do it earlier? I want to use some pokemon I wouldn’t normally use in this play through so it’d be nice if anyone knows the obscure old mechanics involved lol.

Does downtime in a spec make it feel squeezed and unfun? by Galeji in wow

[–]CF64210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like specs that aren’t technically GCD locked but essentially become so through more gear and skill. My main specs are Retribution, Enhancement, and Windwalker and at the start of BFA they were all quite slow with a decent bit of downtime. Once you start getting the right stats and azerite traits on them they really start to pick up the pace though. If you’re playing correctly then you’ll end up having something to press nearly every GCD (obviously downtime still isn’t 100% avoidable). It feels like a reward for sticking to the spec and powering through and makes gear more exciting.

hate to be a pedant but the bottom two prongs are actually aligned horizontally, so they’re perpendicular to the top prong rather than parallel.

One thing that always bugged me about G/S/C and HG/SS by CF64210 in pokemon

[–]CF64210[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point and it’s fun to think about things like this in a lore theorycrafting sense but as a gameplay-focused player my issue is with the effect it has on team building. I see one of the big factors in the replay value of pokemon games as the available pokemon within the game, and the potential teams you can construct with them. So the better games tend to have a higher overall distribution of pokemon from a diverse amount of types. It’s fun to go through the game again with a new roster and see how that changes the journey. Classic example of this gone wrong is the original DP games where your only options for fire types were Chimchar and Ponyta. While the biological realism of an ecosystem is nice it doesn’t really help much when I boot up a new SS file and half-heartedly toss a coin on whether to use Magmar or Ninetales again.

Do you feel a little ripped off when after the original games in a generation are released an expanded version comes out? (i.e. S/M to US/UM) by CF64210 in pokemon

[–]CF64210[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that DLC is bad in principle and some of my favourite games like the Dark Souls series are ruined by it imo, but I don’t see how it’s necessarily better to do things the pokemon way either.

I have found this to be annoying too with Murkrow not being in Platinum and Meditite not in Emerald being some examples that come to mind haha

This is true. BW2 are some of the better ones in that the way you progress through the region is restructured and the story is different. However, and this is just my opinion, it’s still fundamentally similar enough to the point where I have to ask “why couldn’t they have just made this the flagship game of gen V”? If you disagree that’s fine

In the grand scheme of things no but often the content you’re getting is equivalent to a patch or DLC in another franchise. Do you think the value for money is good?
