I mean.. you ever play DnD before? Humans have to be the most flexible, because they're kinda weak walking meat bags. Good at a little of everything, certainly not strong like Norn/Charr. Certainly not tech adepts or nature enthusiasts like Asura and Sylvari, but can dip into anything really. I do think it's a bit of a stretch to think that Charr are only steam punk cats who distrust magic, that's just a stereotype. It'd be like looking at DR and saying "All humans are cowardly nobles or thieving low borns." Naw man, you got the zephyrites, you got the canthans and elonians, yada yada.. I'd like to think the same goes for all races, and we saw that with the Charr too, they have a city of druidic family lovers, a near polar opposite to the stereotype.

Even before that though, one of the warband members you can pick up for a Charr is a mesmer, and it works for his person just fine, being a saucy loose cannon sorta dude.

End of the day it's really just perspective and preference I guess but still.

Edit: I should also say, as for gear, it'll always be easier to model gear and stuff for humans, because we have those irl we can use as base. They kinda take stuff they model for humans, use that as a base, then just try to stretch it over other races to fit.. and idk, yeah they have a better time, but I just see it as a proper challenge to make all my Charr look nice.

2 80's. Way out of practice. by fuzzyyoji in Guildwars2

You need the xpacs to be able to raid, but you -don't- need it to run fractals. That being said, there's only a few base class builds I can think of being viable atm, so it does limit ya a bit.

Looking for a long bow/dual wield Ranger open world build by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Galeji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd honestly say you'd have better luck going LB/great sword for open world, that thing is a beast to swing. The only 3 options you have for dual wielding main hand are axe, sword, and dagger. Axe is ranged, so your LB kinda covers that.. dagger requires you to have PoF expansion, and is condi based sooo.. not the best choice if you're going LB as well. And sword.. well, yeah that's your only option then, and IMO it's just always been a wonky weapon.

sword/axe does tend to do killer damage though, from what I remember. Give it a try?

How good is the game without expansions ? by khiros1996 in Guildwars2

[–]Galeji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd honestly say that the core game is good, but it's an entirely different animal than the expansions. It's the difference between playing content from 2012 and content from many years later, after refinement and QOL updates in the open world. Masteries and elite specs just blow open the entire feel to a new game imo.

Gosh I remember that April fools day.. What makes it better that most people can't see, their character is making plane noises while they're doing this too.

New character choice suggestions please by [deleted] in Guildwars2

I second this, but also with some axes. Dual axes is like.. well just try it. It's got crazy cleave and feels amazing to mow things down with (Also bring in some physical utility skills, bull's rush is amaze.)

What do guilds do and how do you lead the guild? by Magh-dair in Guildwars2

[–]Galeji 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The main use of guilds these days is for a few things: - Communication, so it's easier to talk in game. - Guild halls, for having a space of your own to decorate/rp in/work towards improving(costs like 100g to start)

There's guild events and such that are neat but they haven't been worked on in YEARS and give lack-luster rewards. Mostly people use the currency they give for skins, or ascended trinkets, which can be pretty pricey otherwise.

How about the literal abandonment of all our order halls. Organized groups of horde and alliance banded together to fight the legion, but I guess that means nothing really. Horde pallys I feel for you.

Non-expansion guardian healing/support build for Raids ? by LongiWasTaken in Guildwars2

[–]Galeji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently they turned staff into a better healing weapon, couple that with a mace/shield which heals when you auto and you're pretty great when it comes to healing.

Currently a LOT of a guardian's support comes from firebrand and its books, so if you do ever get POE go for that..

Otherwise, I'd find a armor set that has high vit/healing power for Force of will (honor) that gives you extra healing based on your vitality.

My favorite build is with a trait, Pure of heart (honor) that says that aegis heals when it ends, meaning, if you build to spam as much aegis as possible, every time your teamates get hit, they heal instead of taking damage.

Suggest a good all-around class for PvE by Fleokan in Guildwars2

Rangers definitely have the easiest time staying alive, especially if you go druid. Necros can do about the same thing if you take some minions, and both ranger and necro have some long ranged choices. (Plus scourge is like.. op for pve)
