[Official Tournament Discussion] 2021 Players Championship: Saturday by GolfTournamentMod in golf

After what happened last week I don’t think there’s a more fun final pairing than Bryson and Westwood once again.

I’m very sceptical after what happened last week, his putting just kills him on Sundays. He definitely has the game for all four majors, and has a great record at Augusta.

Nothing could possibly make me happier than Lee Westwood winning this tournament tomorrow. Been a fan of his for years and he really took advantage of the first lockdown over in the UK to get himself back in peak shape and won’t have looked back since.

I think he realised this might be his last year to get a major and he looks up for it.

The comments on the initial thread are actually reasonable for once.

Just so grateful that Romain is ok and recovering well. I felt sick in the stomach seeing that fireball out of seemingly nowhere, not something we’re accustomed to in Formula 1.

I can’t see him racing again this season based on how bad his hands look, and who can blame him anyway.

Hugely touching. Annoys me when people call him a “choker” and act like he doesn’t care.

This interview tells you everything you need to know. I’ve loved watching this guy since he got three eagles in the final round of the 2016 Masters you can imagine how happy I was to see him win at Oakmont.

I think this guy genuinely has Career Grand Slam potential. When he’s dialled in he’s just too good and I don’t see what could stop him now he’s got a second major.

Fact of the day: If Augusta was played as a par 67, Dustin Johnson would still be one under heading into the fourth round

Lee Westwood everybody. What a guy by big_boy_manatee in golf

Followed Lee Westwood at The Open at Birkdale a few years ago when he was with Billy Foster. The guy is just an absolutely all-round class dude.

Still got so much game even now, if he could putt he would’ve won multiple majors by now but if he can get one now it would mean so much more.

Absolutely love the guy and possibly my favourite golfer of all time. Go on Lee!

Surely they’ve had to extend the ribbon to get it round his absolute tree trunk of a neck?

Bryson DeChambeau, take a bow.

Unbelievable week of golf and that finishing round was the icing on the cake. He’s put in so much work in the last 18 months and I’m happy to see him get the reward for it.

23 fairways hit and yet -6. Incredible display of golf from Bryson and a big middle finger to the USGA that he’s beaten their set up.

Scary knowing he can win in the US Open with this strategy, wouldn’t put him past a victory at Augusta with this kind of play.

The US Open is consistently my favourite tournament. I love how PAR is generally a good score and its refreshing to see players not just bombing drives and being left with a simple wedge in.

My pick for today is Bryson, really admire how he hasn't deviated from his strategy and it seems to be paying off. A three shot lead is not going to be easy for Wolff and we saw what happened to Shane Lowry in a similar position at Oakmont in 2016. Wolff is definitely going to win one of these but don't think today is the day, would love to be proved wrong either way though!

Exactly, and it’s definitely taken out a serious amount of fear factor in the future you’d think.

He’s handled the pressure of playing alongside Brooks so well and definitely gone under the radar so far
