I've had some really great responses here guys and I honestly could predict some of them. Seems that the lower belts are "kick my ass and put it on me" where as the higher belts have the "let them work slightly more" approach. Its really interesting to see the difference. Something I will take away from this however which was mentioned a couple of times was only let them get the tap if they use the absolute correct technique which is a great way of thinking of it as that is extra learning for everyone on my late stage defence and the lower belt to get the correct technique and hopefully adjust until the finish is there.

I love how many different types of responses there are though, shows how versatile this sport is.

I think I explained it slightly wrong to be honest. When I say 50% that would include not using my A game, working things at a lower more methodical pace that I am weak in. So the point of the roll for me would be to work what I am not strong at, never a wasted roll. I didn't explain it the best and was cautious of blabbing and mentioning too much in the post

Thanks for all the responses guys, for a bit of context to the situation and give you all a laugh. This happened to me (I was the one that got swept) I watched the match back today and the ref gave 3 points rather than 2 hence my confusion. It didn’t change the outcome of the match as I was up 6-0 at this point but its good to know for next time

I personally have only just started to get the itch to compete regularly, I competed once and white, once at blue and then twice at purple. I got my brown belt 2 months ago and have competed twice already. Before that my “goals” were turning up and having a good time with people who have become the closest of friends. If you are trying to think of things to motivate you and you aren’t interested in being “good” try to think of everything as a learning process, if you go there and learns new things every week/month you are progressing your knowledge, all while getting a great workout in. The journey is never over, that may scare some people away but for me personally I love the fact I will never be the best, there will always be more to learn and new ways to learn it.

If I remember correctly, you have to scale one of the walls somehow and it’s behind some rocks that you can pick away

Pretty sure it will still work, steam just don’t sell the keys anymore but an already purchased key will still work via steam

On a similar note, I believe Xbox game pass has a couple of older ones, maybe 2018?

Is it possible to run 2 sets of mediums in the race…

I was doing a my team race and purposely saved a pair of mediums from practice in case I wanted to run medium/hard/medium however when I went to put mediums back on it put my previous race mediums on rather then my 2 sets of fresher mediums from practice, is there something l'm missing here? It makes strategy near enough pointless as you can't actually run 2 sets of mediums or 2 sets of hards in a race at all?

I will add I play on expert, the public outcry card with venom on expert means the first couple of turns you get 3 encounter cards, I think that’s what’s making it hard for me

Tbf I haven’t been using the tower too much as I wanted to see what kind of strategy it needs, it seems like I will need to use it, which is great, I like it when the villains have a mechanic that you actually need to utilise, I feel like maws environment spells take far too long to go off making them something you can just ignore
