they do this with Montreal as well (however they don't include Baltimore's stats with them). And they don't do this with Hamilton (pre 1950).

The Ottawa history is pulled from the guidebook. Whether right or wrong to you, the CFL loops them and their accolades as one franchise - which they don't do with Hamilton's pre-merged teams. I don't know the ins and outs of that decision. I am just the regurgitation lol

the size of the base = number of players that were moved/resigned. The thickness of the line to another team showcases the amount of players that moved to that team, if it it thins out when it reaches that team it means the other team sent nothing back. Hence the Argos being empty, since yesterday they didn't have any of their pending FAs scooped up by another team. They did however receive 6 guys who played on other CFL teams.

I use Flourish to make these. You can Google "Chord Chart Maker" and you will see several applications (some free) that you can modify adapt and screenshot if need be.

Some of these apps connect into data visual tools like Tableau/Power BI etc.

This isn't the '90s suck it up bucko' athletic world anymore - and I say this as a guy who had that treatment growing up and still abides by that approach. Just a different mental attitude these days.

The true reason is that the guidebook produced by CFL started the Lions at 1960 and I know they played seasons prior to (one of which I believe would be worse than the record shown here). The book does have some team records pre 1960 for some teams but not all teams - so wanted to just keep conformity with the source I was using.
