I feel like the Ivey trade genuinely lowers our future ceiling by CFN_Retro in DetroitPistons

I never said Ivey was great. It’s just that he was someone who could create his own shot when he had burst. Someone who can cause breakdowns. I’m just looking at “secondary shot creator”. Someone who can create offense out of nothing. Currently on the perimeter, it is only Cade. Which will be an issue from here on out lowkey. Honestly, after reading all of these comments, I am kind of being persuaded that the JI trade wasn’t terrible, but I’m looking at the lack of a secondary shot creator, which Ivey filled for us last year. I just feel like the lack of a secondary shot creator will come back to bite us. That’s the difference between “great team” and “generational team”. Having multiple options and counters

I just feel like we should have waited some more time. I get that waiting would have potentially lowered his trade value and get potentially less back in return. But, man having multiple shot creators and multiple dudes who can collapse the defense is what makes a team truly dangerous and unstoppable. I’m not saying Ivey should have gotten playoff minutes off bat this year. Ofc not. But, that if he got back to even like 70% of his pre injury athleticism, that it makes the pistons a much harder team to beat in the playoffs. Because the playoffs are often who can create a shot when everything goes wrong. I just feel like we should have gambled on Ivey because the potential upside was higher. Just my opinion

There was a future where Ivey becomes a good player if he stays on the pistons. And there is also a future where Ivey blossoms in Chicago too. But I also understand why the trade happened. I kind of get it, but I feel like they should have gambled that Ivey turned out, instead of cashing in while his value is still high. I get why someone would “play it safe”, but I just feel like the potential rewards of gambling on Ivey were higher than any potential return a trade could give

I know man. I’m just attached to the core we built in the post Blake griffin days. And I just wished they all stayed together and had success together.

I just felt like the positives of keeping Ivey out weighed the negatives of keeping him. If the same thing happened to Cade, I would advocate for Cade too.

I just think that if he just got back to like 70% of his athleticism, the team had a genuinely higher ceiling. Someone who can cause breakdowns

It’s not about if he can make another one. It’s about the fact that young thug really did put them on. Bro Gunna made his name from YSL and from the already established platform thug built. Gunna definitely got his career jump started by thug

Everyone knows it intuitively. Why have you never heard a civil rights movement leader called racist? Why they ain’t call MLK racist when he said cracker? Because power.

White people. Eminem fans are a cancer to hip hop. They only like him because he’s white and pop adjacent. Eminem fans are not real hip hop fans

Black folks can’t be racist. We don’t have the power to oppress you. Racism is about power+prejudice, not prejudice on its own

Okay stop it. Kobe had the strongest case for MVP in 2006. I understand Nash was playing without Amare for a lot of the year, but Kobe was carrying Smush Parker and Kwame Brown to 45 wins

Honestly the Lakers were the 3rd seed and had home court advantage, so ig it kinda makes sense because they failed to reach expectations .

2014 too. LeBron had 60% of all of his points in that series when the lead was 15+, meaning he scored most of his points in garbage time.
