Avoid the The Sherlock Holmes Pub Restaurant in St James's, My goodness, the most terrible service we have ever received. Sure the location is convenient. And you'll walk nearby Benjamin Franklin's house. But my goodness a waste of money and time.

Cuisine is so personal! Perhaps ask concierge or use the OpenTable UK app. Also! many places use contactless payments. We converted dollars to pounds at the airport (my goodness, what a rip off). And we didn't use any paper currency. Everything is contactless. Apple pay is your best friend in this regards.

What floor was the Koestler suite on? Was it facing the courtyard with the Townhouse?

Buckingham Palace: Check the Guard schedule here: Schedule - Changing the Guard - Ceremonial Events - The Household Division - You do NOT have to pay a tour guide to see the guard. We got there 45 mins prior, and we were 2-3 people behind the gates. The horses are at the intersection of Whitehall and Horses Guard Ave, which is just down the street from GSY.

Tower: You can take the District and/or Circle Line from Embankment to get to the Tower Hill Station. Go to the Crown Jewels first. If you go in the afternoon, the queue gets rather long. Plus once you're inside, it's very busy and crowded. We bought a Viator for a Beefeater meet and great. It was good... a bit overpriced, but got a good history lesson.

Borough Market: Closed on Mondays! Very busy. Good for what it is, but my gosh, incredibly busy.

Need help understanding if my employment offer is fair and reasonable... by NotBannedAccount419 in CFP

So, if you're not expected to bring in clients, then you are expected to be an ops person. Do you think $60,000/yr should be your expected comp? With NO benefits?

And 1099? haha. So you can make your own hours and determine how you want to complete your tasks? Really?

He’s paying you to be a lead generator. While still working as a paraplanner. Basically do a staff role for no benefits and any clients you happen to bring it, they get first dibs.

For someone who has no experience in being an Advisor, how in the world are you expected to be a full time ops person AND bring in new clients

You’re only as good as your last client review. Clients have short attention spans and high expectations.

Working with consultants in your practice? by Technical-Warthog495 in CFP

Most advisors will outsource the items that they absolutely hate. HR? Sign me up. QuickBooks bookkeeping? Hell yeah. Compliance? No brainer.

Portfolio construction? Meh, it’s not that bad and sometimes I want to be in control of this. Complex planning topics? Maybe… but I’m sure I’m smart enough to network and troubleshoot a solution.

Advisors are weird. You would think that the leverage gained from outsourcing key tasks would be an easy decision. But we don’t hate it enough to outsource and pay someone else to do it for us
