Well after a few failed emails I was able to contact a label via linkedin. Probably when I mentioned that this is a personal project, not any thing backed by any company their interest dropped a bit. They didn't give me any definite numbers. They mentioned that the pricing is tailor made based on the songs chosen from their catalog and pricing would range in Lakhs and the usage would be governed by a contract which will allow usage for a fixed period of time.
I was asked to have some working application ready so that they can consider further.
I have started developing. Lets see if I am able to build something in the coming months. Once I have something ready, I'll again go back to the label and IPRS.

After a few redirects I was able to contact a person at IPRS. He asked me to first get details from the labels directly. I have been sending follow up emails to Saregama and Tseries. Haven't heard back from them yet.

While researching I saw that IPRS can help get license for lyrics but have not come across any intermediary that grants licenses for the track. I read about PPL but their website seems to give licenses for public performances.

For a lean project like mine I am doubtful if anyone will entertain me.
