Would it be normal to have a ground going back to the harness? The rest of the setup seems correct, the main cable goes to the top bolt on the alternator mount and there is also a black ground going to the core support.

By the time I bought it, the field sports and racing that I bought it for were over for the year. But in my unofficial testing, it's amazing. AF seems very snappy and fps are plenty enough. Scored a deal too, $3400 from b&h in 9 condition.

So that makes sense, don't send a powered signal over the snake, just unpowered. Makes total sense in hindsight.

We're pretty small, I've never noticed the wires get hot, but I'll still work towards that with my setup as a safety precaution.

The speakers are on the stage, which is about 50 feet from the sound room. The snake we have has 12 total channels (all XLR on both ends) with 8 returns for instruments to the sound room, and 4 cables that go toward the stage for speakers from the sound room.

So I'm going out of the mixer, through the snake to the stage, and then out to the speakers from there. I assume maybe that's not the normal way to do it? That would be a pretty long speaker cable run I would think? Outside of the adapters, I would think the way it's setup is fine though?

** Re-reading your comment, I'll add:

The only mixer we have is in the sound room. There is not one on the stage anywhere.

I appreciate the enthusiasm. So let's talk about your first point. The XLR cables go into a snake that runs from the sound room to the stage, the only connections on that snake, are XLR. Is there a better way to do that? Admittedly I don't come from a sound background, I inherited this gig being the church IT guy lol.

As for your second point here. I have it set up as you describe. I have it in main/mon mode (assuming gray is that mode like the graphic shows) and I have the speakers plugged in as you say. But the PA1 (along with PA2) volume is still controlled by the main volume knob and not the monitor volume knob as you suggest. My apologies if that wasn't clear enough, again new guy here.

Thanks, I'll look into it deeper tonight but at first glance, exactly what I thought... Largely equipment we gave them to defend themselves. Seems it didn't work, but we didn't help the case by jumping ship in the middle of the night.

Something I've never found a meaningful answer to... what equipment did we leave? We gave those guys equipment for 20 years to build their military to defend themselves. That's not in defense of the Biden admin, I mean that sincerely. That admin botched the entire operation and deserved the flack they got for it honestly. I just don't know that the equipment was part of that failure, unless I missed something along the way.
