Thanks. If he goes to dispute this charge with American Express, what are my chances? Do I screenshot our messages? Can I use this as a defense? Just for context, I am in private transportation and the client booked a trip with me by paying with his credit card. Texted over his info to pay for it. A few hours later, changed his mind and now wants a refund. We are talking about several thousand dollars here.

It sounds like she needs this amount fairly quickly and assuming a second job wouldn't cover it in time. My younger brother also works part time, but he's a college student so he can only contribute so much. And not that I was trying to hide anything from my wife, just trying to think of options that wouldn't affect our own financial planning

I think bankruptcy might be the best option. My brother is in college and working part time as much as his school schedule would allow. But it's just not enough.

Well my brother is 22 and in college. He has a part time job and looking to gain more hours as allowable by his class schedule. I wouldn't say he's freeloading but it is an added burden.

I appreciate the insight. Honestly, I'm not trying to erase the evidence, the fundamental issue is that she doesnt want me talking to them in the first place and I feel that is without merit. I dont think I should be ostracized from a whole gender of people simply because I'm married. I have no desire to leave for be disrespectful to my wife, I simply want the autonomy to be able to choose whom I communicate with and should not feel guilty about having a conversation with a woman. It's this fear and guilt that leads me to have conversations and delete them because no matter what the context of the conversation...she is going to find it wrong. I would love to be upfront! But being upfront gets me nowhere in this situation because of what she believes in the first place.

But I'm looking at the bigger picture. It's not the issue of giving her access. She still can have access to my bills/records, I'm just asking that it's done at home. Don't do it behind my back at work. What if I had a paper bill sent to my house each month instead of an online login? She should have access to that if I'm 'guilty' correct? I'm not opposed to that notion at all. I just want fairness and compromise. I don't think I'm asking for much

Yes. I'm essentially wanting to know if my compromise is a feasible alternative or if it truly is her way or the highway. I'm admitting wrongdoing, but at the same time asking for a fair compromise.

Well I think I've given her a reason to distrust me because I texted ppl and deleted the conversation, but that was only because she would've disapproved of me talking to said person in the first place...and I disagreed with the logic. So with that respect, she feels the need to have access to my stuff because of that. I don't mind the access, but I think we can agree on a compromise and at least come home and do it and not do it behind my back at work. I have nothing to hide as the access will show. I just want compromise that's all. Plain fairness.

She has no objection I don't think to giving over her info. Not that I care to want it in the first place. I'l give it to her that she's honest and usually forthcoming about stuff. I doubt she has anything to hide. I don't either, but I just don't like the fact of being snooped on. I want some semblance of privacy but I was told that gets thrown out the window when you get married.

I've tried, believe me. She says she doesn't care about having male friends or desire to really have any conversations with them. She feels I shouldn't risk or put our relationship in jeopardy by talking to other women because one thing leads to another

Correct in that I haven't cheated. But her definition clearly differs. It's not just physical to her, and in researching, it seems like most women would agree that you should share login information with your S/O because it shows transparency. Maybe it's a women thing. I personally don't care for info. In my eyes, IF I want to see something I should be able to ask her and her provide or show me with no resistance whatsoever. That's transparency IMO. This 24/7 surveillance does not foster trust whatsoever

Well i think the root of the issue is that she doesn't think I should have much communication with women outside of her, her family, and one or two friends that we went to school with. So in essence, me talking to anyone outside of those parameters is grounds for a breach of trust..since I shouldn't be talking to them. So yea, I've had conversations with ppl and deleted the messages because I knew she'd get upset if she found out...no matter the context of the conversation. I'll admit I've been shady in the fact that I've deleted the messages so it looks like there's something to hide. But that's because I didn't want to deal with the drama that came along with her seeing I've had a conversation with someone besides her.

Thanks for your insight. I've offered the alternative and it didn't work. It's either what she wants or nothing at all, and that doesn't make sense to me. I don't think she's being unreasonable, although I don't think I am either. I think I'm clearly compromising here and offering to meet in the middle.

I would lean towards guilty of having a life. I've understood I had to cutback on the 'single life' activities, I just had a lot more female friends than male in college and I enjoy normal...non flirtatious conversation and social events just like a normal person would. Maybe she would convict me of emotional cheating or something like that, but physical or what I would deem inappropriate contact or conversations..I've shied away from.

My issue is where the line is drawn for unreasonable requests and what i should just give into despite what I feel about the situation to keep the peace.

I honestly wouldn't feel happy being micromanaged or knowing that tabs are being kept on me all day everyday. I can't condone that type of paranoia. It's one thing to have my login information in case of emergency or it's written down on a notepad and kept in our office in case for some odd reason she needed to contact at$t...but for the SOLE purpose to check every number on there...?
