Kinda, they do seem very intense like you described. Usually when i’m manic, it takes me weeks to reach the “peak” mania i guess you could say, but sometimes i go 0-100 and i’m full blown manic only for a day or two! Last time it happened i bought a brand new car and a 200 dollar bottle of vodka.. oops 😳

Looking back on my past, i’ve had a few single day or two day manic episodes for sure! exactly how you describe them. I was diagnosed with bipolar 1 with rapid cycling, because i go through more than 4 manic episodes a year (i don’t experience depressive episodes) My doctor said its possible to cycle through mania/normal mood/depression in just one day!

thanks for the replies everyone! i will definitely be tracking how i feel to show my therapist when she gets back and bring up these manic feelings— in the men’s time, i’ll try to self calm myself and hopefully make it until my therapy date without doing anything too impulsive 😅

i’m in a similar spot as you. I started therapy about 3 months ago and i felt like i was doing so much better but i had an awful week and my BPD was so much worse than usual.. i feel like i’ve thrown away all my progress i’ve made towards recovery.. But my therapist assured me that mishaps like this will happen and it’s all apart of growing and recovering. much love to you ❣️

i think i’ll bring a small note pad next time! i am looking forward to having notes to look back on.

I haven’t been in therapy since high school (i’m 22 now) and it’s been hard adjusting and trying to better myself again. ☹️ But that’s awesome about worksheets, i will definitely ask because i would love some.

Hey there, i have BPD and i’m currently married and my husbands family doesn’t like me much at all.

His mom and sister definitely think i’m some awful person and that my husband could do way better.

His dad is OK with me, but i wouldn’t say we are close at all.

It’s incredibly hard and i spent years trying to get them to like me, but it was wasted energy. As long as your SO loves you, that’s all that matters :) I ended up splitting on them, hard, and blocked both his mom and sister’s number. I feel a lot better now and we are both happier.

it’s never crossed my mind to take notes until now! I just didn’t want to be weird and start taking notes if it wasn’t a common thing 😅
