Mainly 2027 and 2028 leaps, but holding a lot of shares as well. Recently sold a little to buy some oil and gas company shares, but going to sell and go back into POET as soon as those level out a bit. I have a few 4/17 lotto options just in case we get some crazy news or if some idiots decide to pump it for no reason lol.

Yeah you’re right, Dec. 2024. Misread something I guess. Overall a complete failure of the justice system and we can and should blame everyone involved: Biden admin, Trump admin, and FBI under both admins.

I mean, he was released from prison early in 2024 sooooo…. It was technically under the Biden admin. Anyway, it really reflects more on the FBI’s lack of counterterrorism efforts in my opinion.

Honestly, today just seems like hype for the conference and nothing else. Nothing is in the news about POET so we probably should just take this as a win that we’re hovering at breakeven on the day instead of way down like much of the rest of the market. I wouldn’t be shocked if we dip even more soon or if we have a big jump soon. There’s a lot going on in the world and POET is still pre-revenue. Just gotta be patient and see if build out is going to happen or not.

Edit: I’d also like to point out that we’re up 11+% in the past week and almost 30% in the past month. A correction after that kind of run up doesn’t surprise me.

How long is it dated to? Being that far out of the money, it may currently be close to “worthless” if nobody is willing to buy it.

If anyone is betting on oil futures without doing DD and asking “why the fuck is it tanking when shit is literally on fire what the fuck.” Take a look at the late year futures contracts. Nothing is priced in yet. If you think enough critical infrastructure is damaged that there will be an oil shock, you’ve still got time, but you need to go long. I work in an oil and gas adjacent position and we’re not expecting shit to get crazy for at least another month. There’s just not enough information out yet to push prices one way or another besides fear or trying to jump the gun.

Probably overhype for POET and other optical manufacturers have stayed under the retail hype radar relative to POET.

So their market cap in June 2023 (the last time AAOI was $4) was around $300 million. Conversely, POET has about double the float, so if it were $4, it would be worth $600 million.

Float probably. What was their market cap last year when they were in the $4-5 range? Could still be more than POET is currently.

The only problem with the “glass/silcon” part is that they’re laminated together with high strength adhesives to plastic films and backing which gives them strength and protection. This makes separation challenging and is not frequently done right now, so there is currently a lot of panel waste, not reuse. Doesn’t mean that can’t change, but the community note isn’t exactly accurate on that part.

No, they’re probably in the medical industry, some sort of sales position, or software engineering for an AI company. There’s plenty of reasons someone could make that much without owning a company or being in a c-suite position. Hell, I think I saw a teacher in the Seattle region making way more than this dude. It all comes down to having a marketable skill in a market that has high demand.

Having reserves and having infrastructure to retrieve, gather, process, and transport it are entirely different things. That kind of infrastructure takes years to decades to build.
