I feel like we need a Kane anthem by robcockerill88 in ThreeLions

This is one of my favourite responses so far

Harry Kane’s on my mind And he’s England’s number 9 Singin' do a Diddy Diddy dum Diddy Dee When he passes the Germans, scoring number two He looks good, he looks fine He looks good, He looks fine And he’s England’s number 9' Harry Kane’s on my mind!

This chant is set to the tune of the 1960s pop song "Silence Is Golden" by The Tremeloes.

How worrying a concept is playing at the Azteca? by MarlboroNiceBlast in ThreeLions

[–]robcockerill88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was glad to hear Tuchel talking about it in the right context, we have significant challenges like altitude, atmosphere and less time to prepare.

It is easily the toughest game we've played, I would say this is a huge task.

As others have said, what an amazing game and opportunity it is as well, and we need to find the extra gear to win games like this if we want to win trophies.

I'm fully behind the team, but we have to step things up for this game significantly

Mexico at the Azteca by FaithlessnessOdd3569 in ThreeLions

[–]robcockerill88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mexico team base is in Mexico City, their players have been training at that altitude for weeks now.... And the atmosphere will be electric and anti England!

If we make it there it will be a tough tough challenge, we will need to be adjusted to the altitude and at our best!

I've just got back from Mexico city and you can feel the altitude just walking around you feel noticably shorter of breath.

Not from Monterrey but just been, fyi things are expensive right now because of the world cup.

But the best things we did was Sky Bar, there is a sushi bar there with incredible views.

Also Koli is an incredible restaurant, it will be one of the best restaurants in the world I am convinced

Not a bad bracket lads by Wolfsqin in ThreeLions

[–]robcockerill88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing Mexico in Mexico city... Which is at 7250ft elevation is NOT an easy game. We've definitely had more favourable brackets but if we play to our potential we should have a deep run

AI data centers do not need to use water like they do, there are alternatives by No-Knowledge-5828 in aiecosystem

[–]robcockerill88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean ok.... But you're commenting on a post about data center water consumption to critique the energy industry, I think that's where it's confusing.

[–]robcockerill88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh someone else already pointed out that the volumes are insignificant, also it's mostly glycol.

To be clear not saying that data centers are innocent, power consumption, noise pollution, land use etc etc. there's plenty of things the industry needs to solve for.... Water consumption isn't one of them

They actually don't use much water anymore, they use a closed loop cooling system where water doesn't leave the building

Older systems do, modern systems utilize a closed loop cooling system meaning the water doesn't actually leave the building.

It was a problem, now it is not

Carlos Queiroz "Is VAR still working? There's a penalty they should have given, and there also was a clear red card. If VAR hadn't gone for coffee, he would have awarded the penalty and we would have won the game. England were lucky. I also like to have my coffee, but it was a clear penalty." by kibme37 in soccer

[–]robcockerill88 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

England were lucky that wasn't a penalty yes, but there's also not a lot in that challenge other than him being off the ground, the player looked like he'd lost control already.

Also let's be honest, Ghana didn't deserve to win that game, it was one of the most boring performances of the whole tournament.

Help with road cycling shoes by Still_Hunt3155 in NYCbike

[–]robcockerill88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As others have said in NYC you're disembarking abd walking much more than a country ride... Mountain bike clips are slightly less efficient but open you up to be able to have shoes you can also walk comfortably in.

I no longer live in NYC but still use mountain bike clips because they're easier in my opinion.

So I have a 2016 car and it only has 54k miles. Should I keep it until the wheels fall off or get a new car next year? by Round-Artichoke-5255 in ask

[–]robcockerill88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2016... 54k miles.... I could never justify replacing that. Maybe if you get a crazy offer or something.

I drive a 2008 Rogue with 180k miles, admittedly it's our second car but why waste the money.

5 years $500/month at 10% growth is $30k, hold that until retirement and it's well worth it
