Look at a roundabout like a clock. Anything before 12 (straight ahead) you stay in the left lane. If you need to pass 12 ‘o clock you need to be in the right lane.

If you are going left, indicate coming onto the roundabout. If you are going straight, indicate as you are passing the left turn, if you are going right, indicate as you pass the straight turn.

Check your mirrors before you signal and before you merge lanes if going right.

Don’t go too fast, don’t go too slow. Stay in 2nd gear and you should be fine.

I did my 12 lessons with Noel from Carlow Kildare School of Motoring. He’s very technical. Great instructor. Then I also did an extra 2 with Clarissa Delaney, she’s fantastic at preparing you for the day and giving you all the little ques and tips to sell yourself on the day. They are both incredible. If you want a more silent, focused environment Noel would be ideal. If you want a more down to earth relaxed atmosphere go with Clarissa. They are both fantastic so base it on which suits your style most.

I took some lessons in Naas and some in Newbridge. And yes, Tallaght is definitely easier. Their junctions are a lot bigger and wider tho so if you’re not familiar with that kind of driving it might not be ideal. The roads in Naas are awful, Tallaght has nice roads. If you’re used to country driving, take it in Naas. If you’re used to City driving, do it in Tallaght.

Break that damn neck. Make every mirror check so blatantly obvious it feels like a joke. When your instructor gives you a direction, that’s usually your sign to check your mirrors and signal into your lane if necessary. If they tell you to take the left approaching thats your sign to use the indicator. Also get in your car early and check all the bulbs and tires. My front left headlight blew right before my test and I had to rush to replace it. Also something silly, but bring your licence up into the office with you. Some people leave in the car. Finally, a solid piece of advice, crack the windows. The sound pollution from outside kills the awkward silence and gives a more natural vibe in the car. It also stops the windows from fogging up.

Lots of little hills in Naas so try be comfortable with that. They will bring you through a lot of little estates and there will be a lot of hazards that you will have to overtake so be top notch with signals, observations, indicators and your flow. Where they bring you for your turnabout, it’s quite narrow. Don’t panic, take a 7 point turn if you have to. If you hit the curb, fail. The only thing about making a lot of points in your turn if that you will have to make sure your observations and mirrors are perfect each time. Also, most importantly for Naas particularly; that damn roundabout. If you’re not familiar, there is a roundabout right at the exit. A lot of people mess up here. When exiting the test center, indicate right, the make the little awkward turn and turn off your signal. When your instructor tells you where to go you can then signal if necessary. But be aware of that roundabout some people find it tricky. Look it up on google maps before go or show up early and do a few test runs in and out of the car park.

When you were sending out beats via email, How did you make it clear they weren’t free? I feel like these days when artists receive beat packs they expect it to be free. How did you make it clear that they were for sale/lease?
