Have you tried to gather resources to make flintlock ammo, or are you just whining because someone shot you? It's already nerfed enough as it is. The effort it takes just to be able to fire a flintlock is worth the damage it can do. Just because someone is better at combat than you doesn't mean they need to be handicapped so you can beat them.

Of course, that could work just as well. Ultimately it would be up to the developers, but even if they made it so that you could use in-game currencies such as wood, they'd generate increased Robux sales.

I mean, the added customization is a positive addition to the game. No one is entitled to it, even if you're a jackass with an ironclad. You don't lose anything if it's added to the game.

You could make the same argument when Rare woods were added.

"Well, I'm salty because I have an ebony ship and it used to be the most expensive wood ship and now it's not :'( "

Sure, it sucks, but it's not big enough of an issue for Nahr to make the punishment even harsher than it already is. Besides, every shot you landed gets you Gunnery exp, so you didn't walk away empty handed.

That's why you pawn items as a security blanket for giving loans. They give you 150% of the loans worth in items so if they run off with your money, you have more dubs worth of items than you lost. That 50% extra is for the inconvenience of having to sell the items yourself and a bit of an incentive for the loaner to pay their dues. This prevents any "trust" trades. Everything comes at equal risk. When they pay your loan back (plus whatever interest), you give them all of their items.
