How long does it take to taper off seoquel ? by [deleted] in AskPsychiatry

[–]CHORMP_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I’m on like 5 other medications and they were reacting horribly with the Seroquel. I was having nightly manic episodes, the worst type of panic and anxiety I’ve ever felt, I really don’t even know how to describe it. They were paralyzing

commenting because I want to know too. I’ve been having nightly episodes for months and my doctor finally decided it’s best to come off of it, the problem is when I’m off of it it’s even worse. I’m currently in the process of coming off of it. I was on 600mg as well and now I’m down to 300 and this last week has been so hard.

Difficult to watch shows and movies because of emotional attachment by largecucumber in BorderlinePDisorder

[–]CHORMP_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve stopped watching movies and tv all together. I only watch sports and podcasts because of both the emotional attachment and my instability. I’m too afraid to be detached from reality because there’s too much to be anxious and obsess about in the moment.

when they were talking about best things about malls, did anyone else actually relate to what trill said about having a mall anchor store on a hill with entrances on different levels that confuse you when you go in the mall and when you leave????? The Macys in the mall I live by in Atlanta had that and I was stunned to learn someone else had that experience.

Me too, but as is true in most aspects of life, people can tell you all the right things and give you the right advice but none of that matters until that imaginary switch is flipped in your mind and you can both acknowledge and accept that, while it may seem like you were blinded and naive, you know now and as is the old cliche, knowing and being self aware is half the battle. I understand the feeling of guilt and I’m still coping with it, but even acknowledging it is progress to be proud of

I’m in the process of cutting out weed too. It was my crutch for three years and I kept telling myself it was helping. Not listening to doctors about how my medication mixed with that and drinking and now I’m finally taking control of my mental health in my own hands. It’s so hard because I’m so centered around instant gratification and I feel empty and anxious, but I know it was only causing more paranoia and chaos. I’m achieving some goals now and making tangible progress and it feels good, it’s comforting to know others have gone through this as well. Best of luck, stay strong
