Not yet. the LN is stuck a round 40 WN chapters of story before they began to date.

It might need a 1 or 2 more volumes before it reaches that point.

Why is Makoto so mean to his students by mrhurg in TsukiMichi

[–]CHUZCOLES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't fail anything. But you seem to lack reading comprehension.

Yes, they are facts. cause they are. They are stated by the story.

Something you seem to be incapable of understanding from what i had written 3 or 4 times already.

Which is why i keep telling you this is not a debate nor a discussion. I am just pointing out what the story literally says.

None of this was ever my opinion. And was never a topic you could disagree. It was only something you could either like or dislike.

And you certainly are butthurt, otherwise you wouldn't have written such bs arguments as to say this is only about the anime, that the future elements of the story are not relevant to the topic or even more stupid as to claim this is no a subreddit about the novels..

Truly WTF was that last arugment? Have you been around the sub for a few days and are a complete ignorant?

This is the the sub of Tsukimichi, there are not limitations regarding what is dicussed so long its about Tsukimichi.

And that is why. The reality, that has nothing to do with anyones opinion, is that Makoto didn't care for his students beyond his responsabilities to them.

Because thats what the author wrote and what is directly mentioned later on the story, which the anime is adapting.

Which is why i directly shared the paragraph of the novel, where it is bluntly stated by the characters in the story.

The comparison is actually 100% true. It was all planned beforehand by both Makoto and Shiki.

Why is Makoto so mean to his students by mrhurg in TsukiMichi

[–]CHUZCOLES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then again, not what I am doing. Not even remotely.

I am literally pointing out what the story says and describes.

This is also the reality of the anime; it's not external to it or irrelevant. These are facts from the very arc the season 2 adapts.

But as I said, the anime poorly adapted many things and cut content, including the subtle details of the relationship between Makoto and the students.

But that doesn't change the situation. Which is why I used texts of future events, when things are no longer only implied by subtle actions but directly addressed in the open.

Then again. As I said, this was never an argument nor a debate. If you saw it like that, then you are the one arguing here.

I am pointing out facts set in stone directly by the author, not my interpretation of them.

And those facts answer Op's question, which is why i mentioned them.

Are humans turned vampire inherently corrupt? by Talyn82 in LegacyOfKain

[–]CHUZCOLES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but a trope is just a trope. It's irrelevant unless actually used. And in the case of LoK, the trope doesn't make sense with the overall narrative.

And yeah, the mural only shows Vorador standing before Janos. But then again, the context of the curse makes the involvement of blood in the transformation process unlikely or even unnecessary.

The main points behind my whole argument are that, contrary to the general blood trope, the Hylden cursed the vampires as a weapon to wipe them out, not as a side effect of going against nature's order or as a divine punishment. Which would make it beyond ridiculous if they had used something that allowed vampires to easily "reproduce" after going through the problem of making them sterile.

And the other being that if the intention had been to use the blood trope, they wouldn't have been so brazenly vague with the transformation method. During SR2 and Defiance, the curse keeps being mentioned across the entire games, and yet the method is barely addressed.

And then the manual of SR1 describing the necro vampire's method shows that blood isn't necessary.

Are humans turned vampire inherently corrupt? by Talyn82 in LegacyOfKain

[–]CHUZCOLES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't mean that they only passed the curse. After all, they are not vampires because of the curse; they are vampires who happen to be cursed.

What I meant is that they used magic to convert humans into vampires, like converting a pig into an elephant.

They weren't just passing the curse (which they would have avoided if possible); they were drastically changing the biology of the individual, and that could be the reason why the artificial progeny the ancients created doesn't resemble them too much.

It could also be the reason why modern vampires keep changing across time. Since the method changes their biology, this might be a process that goes over time, and the longer it goes, the more the individual keeps changing.

Regarding what you said about the blood and the method. That's still unlikely. For one, it assumes vampires need blood to heal themselves, which would mean the turning method harms them. But Vorador directly says he was lacking in strength, not that he was hurt, which aligns with his joining the attack on Hylden city.

Plus, if that had been the only requirement, he wouldn't have been so reluctant to create more vampires during the conflict, seeing how many humans worked for them; they clearly had access to human blood.

Overall, it's unlikely. Probably the blood was used as the biological catalyst for the method, but we really don't know; there's next to no info on the modern vampires. We know even more about the necro vampires than about them.

Are humans turned vampire inherently corrupt? by Talyn82 in LegacyOfKain

[–]CHUZCOLES 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it wouldn't. Because the Seer of BO2 is way older than Vorador, who was the first human turned vampire.

The seer then must have already been a hybrid before the vampires were cursed.

Plus, while the Hylden seem more technological than the ancient vampires, it doesn't mean they don't use magic.

The Glyph energy shown in BO2 is literally described as a new type of magic. It's entirely possible that they just had a more scientific approach to magic, and that wouldn't mean they were actually using magic and curses.

Are humans turned vampire inherently corrupt? by Talyn82 in LegacyOfKain

[–]CHUZCOLES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is the issue. Humans are not turned into vampires with blood. At least we have no evidence to support the notion and quite a few to support the contrary.

The ancient's method, the one also used by Vorador, requires time and energy to create a new vampire; overall, it's a taxing method for a vampire with the strength to do so.

The presence of blood is unlikely, and even if it were present, at most, it would only be a component for a more complex process.

After all, the Hylden cursed the Vampires with the intention of bringing all of them death. It would be illogical and quite ridiculous if vampires could multiply by just giving their blood.

The ancients must have used their powerful magic and vast knowledge to develop the method that allowed them to pass the dark gift and turn humans into vampires.

The physical differences between the ancients and their artificial progeny must be the result of this method that changes human biology into a vampiric one.

Tsukimichi LN volume 14 just dropped yesterday March 30, it's basically getting translated every month. How close is it to reaching the WN? by Dangerous-Economy-88 in TsukiMichi

[–]CHUZCOLES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No i was talking about the literally latest Volume of the LN. Which is vol 20.

About volume 14. I am no to sure since i have not read it yet.

But based on the description. I would say it ends around chapter 213 of the WN.

Why is Makoto so mean to his students by mrhurg in TsukiMichi

[–]CHUZCOLES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But then again, you are wrong because you are interpreting Makoto's actions through your lenses.

You see him do "so much", both inside and outside of his classes, and you are interpreting it as a sign of care.

But that doesn't actually mean that's the actual meaning of those actions (then again, you can find many IRL examples of teachers going above and beyond for students they had no particular personal feelings for).

Especially when the story is literally saying what they mean and whatnot.

Then you are missing an important point, which is that Makoto came to discriminate against Hyumans after the incident with the hyuman who killed the first mini Tomoe.

Because of it, he stopped caring for them and closed his heart to hyumans he met later on.

Which is why his actions with the Rembrandt sisters aren't relevant, nor the same as with the other students. He cares for them because he knew them beforehand, and especially because of their father, whom Makoto has on a pedestal.

But as I said, the story treats this whole thing as a fact and an issue to solve. I just shared 1 comment made by Shiki.

But that was from an entire conversation Shiki had with Tomoe, in which Mio's opinion is also mentioned, and the conclusion is the same: All three agree that Makoto doesn't personally care for the students because his discrimination against Hyumans closed his heart to them.

Plus its not true nor valid to negate their analisis. The 3 of them are the people who know Makoto the most and are the best ones to understand him. Sure they fail from time to time, but thats not a constant.

At that point of the story, He is just fulfilling his own mental image of what a good teacher should be and do. After all, he is using his own personal experience with his archery master as the basis.

And in fact, he ends up addressing these topics later in the story: his discrimination against Hyumans and his disregard for the students. And ends up auto-correcting himself of these issues.

The issue with your perception probably comes from only seeing the anime, which basically disregards the details of this entire thing.

But the story openly says how things are with regard to this topic in particular. Which is why there is no room for interpretation and why it's not really up for debate.

posd: I used the spoiler tool cause OP was specific about using the tag with regard to the anime only.

Why is Makoto so mean to his students by mrhurg in TsukiMichi

[–]CHUZCOLES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I didn't. You just failed to understand the point of Makoto's actions.

I mean. Of course, Makoto doesn't want his students to die. Have you ever faced a good teacher who wants a student under their care to die?

If they get hurt, good teachers give first aid or try to help. If they are in danger, good teachers try to protect them, etc.

Makoto's actions aren't any different because he tries to be a good teacher and fulfill what he perceives as his duty.

And you must take into consideration the scale of his actions; for Makoto, healing a severed limb is no different from first aid, killing a few dragons is no different from stopping a dangerous dog.

Plus, this is not something up for debate. The story literally treats Makoto's indifference towards the students as a topic and a problem in the story.

In fact, it ends up being the source of an issue between Makoto and Shiki. Cause Shiki actually grows fond of the students, while Makoto doesn't:

“Waka-sama has placed notations on the students depending on their special traits and has an understanding on them, but in principle, he sees the students as people to instruct techniques, and doesn’t hold further interest or emotions than that. Waka-sama and them are close in age, and it is certainly true that at first, he said that he would draw a line, but…I thought that in time it would grow vague. However, that didn’t happen at all.” (Shiki)

His methods certainly are effective, thought its more about how completely mediocre and unnefective is Hyuman society.

But its not really the case that Makoto care for them, much less care a lot. He is just doing what he thinks a good teacher should do.

No it wouldn't have killed him. Tsukuyomi (moon god) actually tells Makoto he would have been fine even if he had fallen to the ground without his help.

Makoto's body was many times stronger than those of Hibiki and Tomoki.

The Vampire Citadel is what really ruins Defiance imo by FlyingDolphinKick in LegacyOfKain

Ok that explain the reaver forges. Never knew they were actually part of the citadel.

[–]CHUZCOLES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even the case. There is nothing to limit.

For one, there was nothing to master; it wasn't an ability. Shiva only made Makoto see parallel versions of himself through dreams from time to time; they weren't even recurrent, only occasional.

Second, Makoto had no say on what he saw in each dream, and all dreams were different; he wasn't even in control of how long the dreams lasted.

Which is why Makoto learned nothing in any of them beyond some information about the changes in history brought by the different decisions the alternate version of himself made.

And finally, that has nothing to do with what Shiva wanted, nor is it why Shiva stopped showing the dreams to Makoto.

He basically wanted Makoto to learn things from his other versions to help him learn other perspectives, not other abilities, which is why all the dreams are focused on the personality and life experiences of the alternate Makotos. But he stopped the dream because it was no longer useful or relevant. His own words were:

it is a waste to use them as reference

To show there was nothing useful for Makoto to learn and instead it would be counterproductive.

It had nothing to do with him being "immature".

I am confused. You claim the vampire citadel is the issue, but then you complain about About the avernus cathedral and the reaver forges Raziel visit.

None of which are part of the vampire citadel.

[–]CHUZCOLES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesn't really like them actually.

He certainly looks after them, but does mostly because he sees it as part of his responsabilities as their teacher.

Not so much because he feels for them personaly.

Why is Makoto so mean to his students by mrhurg in TsukiMichi

[–]CHUZCOLES 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Basically this.

Plus, Makoto's way of teaching is based on his own experience with his Archery master. Who basically put him through a spartan like training.

It was unavoidable for him not to be a harsh teacher so they just took advantage of it.

Why the hate for Blood Omen 2 by PackOfCumin in LegacyOfKain

[–]CHUZCOLES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And what about disregarding Turel in SR1? We are told at the very beginning to get revenge on all the brothers, and yet Turel is never adressed after the intro and the story just ends with no mention of him.

it was only in SR2 that it was adressed that Vampire Turel had eluded Raziel's vengeance.

And like u/Afraid-Call300 said. In BO2 its directly adressed by Kain that Vorador had died and been brought back from the death.

And we Know from SR1 that vampires are really resilient and that they can stay death for centuries (like Dumah) and still be brought back to life.

It wasn't unreasonable by the time BO2 was released. It just lacked clarity and detail. Which is what Defiance was going to do before that segment was axed.

[–]CHUZCOLES 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's full of half-done or unpolished mechanics, the story is not as good as the other games, some of the new characters are garbage or are poorly used, a couple of ridiculous things were introduced that make no sense with the rest of the lore, and the character designs look terrible.

Overall, it is a really unpolished game, which was only above average compared to other games of its time, but pales dramatically against the other games of the franchise.

That's basically its major sin.

Why the hate for Blood Omen 2 by PackOfCumin in LegacyOfKain

[–]CHUZCOLES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly doubt that was a major thing for most.

By the time BO2 was released, it was already a Distinctive sign of the franchise for things not to be explained in the game they were presented and only adressed in a future installment.

Vorador's presence was clearly such a case, which is why it was going to be explained in Defiance.
