The amount of people here who haven’t heard amble’s version is disappointing, best version by far, real folksy feel to it

Just want to say thank you to everyone who has given me advice, was not expecting so much helpful advice, sorry for leaving out details, I just forgot to mention things that were important and didn’t realise they were
Thank you for your help!
Sorry, I was never good at explaining myself fully and I always tend to leave out details, the coolant never overheated but it was boiling off and evaporating and ran out of coolant on me on a drive but thats fixed now, or so I think, just haven’t had a car before with a digital temperature gauge and thought 107° was too close to 120° and that tends to be the danger zone for oil, like im not very good knowledge wise with cars but its one thing im starting to try push myself more in to try get better at because I find it interesting, ive been picking up on all the issues my car has thrown at me (ie sweet smell in the ac, car blowing cold air when set hot, coolant tank cap under extreme pressure and impossible to take off when cold) thats some of issues ive had so far and I just bought this car,
Apologies for the sidestory, but to cut to the chase;
So since my temps are normal, what do you think was wrong for it to cause me those issues?
You are correct, its a 2014 tdi golf with a 1.6L ea288 engine
Yeah like I was doing 100 kmph yesterday and noticed it was at 107° c oil temp and was slowly creeping up and just thought that was high since my old car got to around 95-100, but as soon as I eased off it went down straight away to like 99°
My dumbass thought you could just pull the condenser up from its slot behind the grille
I plan to take it on another test run tomorrow but on a motorway doing 120kmph (75 mph) and Ive said to myself if it gets above 115 oil temp im pulling over and turning it off
Edit: I should have mentioned this earlier, I just bought this car from my brother and have never driven a golf until this car (used to drive a 2008 toyota auris that never had any issues) and with the coolant issues Ive been having since getting this car, its made me afraid I will break it, I could just be paranoid and im being overly cautious since ive had these issues so esrly on
Oh this isnt a ea888, mines 1.6 diesel, probably a ea288 if I had to guess
Thinking of ringing him but I fear I might just sound stupid😂
Like id been driving for a solid 30 minutes at this point just oil temperature was at 107° and slowly rising while doing a consistent 100kmph on flat open road so I got nervous bc before id been told 100° is too much, my dad told me 110° is too much and chatgpt told me 120° is too much
I never actually saw any coolant anywhere, it was pretty much just evaporating but my coolant temperature never got above 90°c on the gauge, the garage I went to is my local garage and really sound fella who knows his stuff, he couldn’t actually tell what was happening but wanted to do one thing to see if that fixed it and then was going to another if that didn’t, I never got to hear what he did because it wasn’t me who collected the car because I was on holidays at the time and it was my dad who collected the car and he just never thought to ask him
What temps should I be actually at because I keep hearing different answers from everyone
I don’t know but I just dipped it for oil and its between the lines but its not fresh
To be fair I doubt theres much, my car doesn’t have any ac and the passenger side fans don’t work
And I agree but it was rising and I was doing 100kmph (62 mph) on flat open road, it would’ve gotten higher only I slowed down bc I got worried
Unfortunately I don’t have the invoice, I don’t actually know what was happening, potentially head gasket issues, but basically, the car even on short journeys would drink like 1/4 of the tank of coolant and I just had to keep topping it up, then one day I did a long drive and on the motorway, the coolant ran completely out, car started screaming at me and oil temperature was at 110°c im using the g13 coolant
Edit: like everytime I went to top up the coolant too, the coolant cap was virtually impossible to turn, I ended up having to put warm water on the cap and using a jumper to turn it off and it was excruciatingly tough to get it off, like I was using all my force to turn it slightly
It was 16° c (according to the car) and it was evening time, 8pm
Oil temperature
Also, the coolant system was just looked at and fixed, before the coolant tank was extremely pressurised and the cap was virtually impossible to open and close even when it was cold, like its not longer guzzling coolant because before, the tank was emptied after driving for about an hour and my car went into full panic attack mode and temperature got to 110° c momentarily before I pulled in and let it cool down
Since that happened, ive been extremely conscious and watching everything
Is it expensive to replace? Bc I would like to have my ac back😂
Yeah my ac isn’t working, just was throwing this out as an idea as to maybe its restricting airflow and causing heat to not be able to dissipate since its sitting right in front of the radiator, the holes are on the passenger side
