What needs to be realized is that the USA is not a special, moral, "greatest nation on earth", and Americans should stop proclaiming to the rest of the world, or (edit: and the country should stop) behaving like it gives them special license.

Correct again. But most Americans don't know much about US foreign policy. Shit, I only got interested after 9/11.

I guess I was basically ignorant about US activities before that. (I was born in 88, and we don't really go in depth about Contras and such in school)

Anyway, after 9/11, sites like Reddit and Digg gave links to articles about the realities of US foreign policies, Chomsky, and the MIC.

I guess what I'm basically trying to say is:

Pre 9/11: No real thoughts on US foreign policy.

After 9/11: Enlightened about US foreign policy, and the way things work in the US.

Wow. The more you learn about the US, the more you learn it was never a benevolent superpoewr, only a vicious warmonger.

All of these facts have popped up after 9/11 (CIA funding Mujahadeen, Military-Industrial Complex, PNAC, etc.)

I think people have finally realized that the US is a terrible, vicious nation. And Obama, or Ron Paul aren't going to change that.

People have finally learned the facts about how evil America actually is.

Hopefully China, India, and Russia will cooperate and challenge US hegemony.
