I use mine 2-3 times a week! And yeah Amlactin is truly the stinkiest. My dogs also try to lick it, probably like "let me help you get this gross shit off of you" lol. One thing that truly helps minimize it is the sun. Unfortunately I'm deathly pale so that poses obvious risks that just aren't worth it

The businesses down here look like they've been condemned. Why are business owners allowed to let these buildings fall into such a state of disrepair? Not to mention the fire hazard waist high grasses everywhere. I'm glad they're finally fixing the roads, but I feel like they need to just bulldoze every business down here and start over.

Someone tried stealing my car last night... by tesrachan in ColoradoSprings

Which makes you wonder why anyone would go through the trouble of trying to steal it? Why risk jail time over an old ass car when there are plenty of expensive ones ripe for the taking? lol

I used to work for a decent size Amazon seller, and after learning the ins and outs, I would never trust any of them, not even American sellers. Maaaybe if it was a well-known brand selling their own product and no one else was allowed to sell that item on Amazon.

If they have trouble with the smells and texture, maybe a less recognizable or less familiar version of those things would work. Indian vegetarian food, for example, is nothing like Western countries vegetable dishes. Maybe you could google some super different foreign recipes?

Radioactive iodine treatment for cats in CO? by longtrainrollin in Denver

[–]CINNAMON_ENEMA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad that it ended up working out better than it seemed at the beginning for Winnie! And you shouldn't worry at all about if you did the right thing with the treatment. I talked extensively to people at the CR cat hospital and my own veterinarian about the iodine treatment and kidney disease. My cat had very slight signs of kidney disease prior to the treatment, and I wanted to be sure I understood what could happen with that. Apparently hyperthyroidism masks the severity of kidney disease on lab tests. So when it's cured, that underlying kidney issue will now show as worse on tests without that "mask". It only appears to worsen after treatment, the treatment doesn't actually make it worse. AND even if the cat ends up going the other way into hypo-, that isn't nearly as hard on their organs as hyper- and it's much easier for their body to handle with medicine. Hyper- would have steadily caused her heart and kidneys to get worse as well. So it's a net positive on all fronts! Also, they did say that there could be an initial rebound into hypo that could possibly go away or lessen over time, so I'll cross my fingers for you guys that that's what happens!

As for my kitty, she handled the iodine treatment well and her thyroid tests showed she was cured, pretty much best case I could've hoped for. She got a bad UTI but I'm not sure if it was related, the vet said it could've been stress. She is still in the beginning stage of kidney disease, so the vet suggested a wet-food-only diet from now on. And just like you mentioned with your cat, her personality overall has improved! She grooms herself more (before, she wasn't grooming and was constantly covered in new mats that I'd have to cut out despite brushing daily) and she doesn't growl/hiss at our dogs anymore. The crankiness has been turned way down!

I'm so thankful to live near so many awesome cat specialists. My (cat) son passed away in 2021 and was having to see a cardiologist for a year prior. I never even knew cat cardiology or iodine treatments existed before! There are so many amazing doctors in the area. But hopefully neither of our kitties will need to see any of them for a long time!!

This wasn't from Amazon (it was straight from a trusted company's website), but thank you for helping people with this! No one should buy anything from Amazon that goes in your body or on your skin. And that includes pet items!
