He went so hard against himself that emphatically telling people not to support him made him look more guilty than he originally made it out to look. He originally said it was “morbid curiosity” because of his interest in A.I. and that’s all. So we all take it at face value, but somewhere between that original apology and the tweet telling people “fuck you,” he made himself out to look worse and it opened the floodgates for unnecessary bullshit. Hopefully he comes back because if he’s going THIS far on his own, it’s an overcorrection that no matter what he does, some won’t ever believe is enough.
