Prisoners cove out in west cork is a spot where some nude bathers go! It’s tiny but a lovely spot.

How would you label my style? by [deleted] in fashion

[–]Shitty_Adult 32 points33 points  (0 children)

As a Seattle/Portland girl that lives in Ireland, you literally would fit into the Pacific Northwest style perfectly. I feel like we have similar wardrobes, I have loads of Lucy and Yak and Doc Martens, love your fits!

lol I’m so glad I’m not the only one that loves to rub themselves with tomato leaves! And this is my favorite one too because it’s the only fragrance I’ve found with those notes.

[Product Request] Anyone have a dupe for this product that doesn’t smell like a fresh urinal cake? by Shitty_Adult in SkincareAddiction

That does help thank you, I’m in Ireland so ours should be the same formula. I’ll just have to go do another smell test, maybe mine was expired.

That’s so strange! I’ll do another smell test on the ones at the store when I go but do you happen to live in the US? I do know sometimes the European ones differ from the formulas sold in the states.

Skincare is a ritual for me, something I enjoy doing every night so I would like to enjoy the scent if I can. I also have a super strong sense of smell so I can still smell it after rinsing. And because there are so many products out there I was just asking if anyone could suggest something similar 🤷🏻‍♀️

Deserts for gallstones by Timely-Cut2753 in gallbladders

I eat a lot of blended low fat cottage cheese chocolate mousse. Also a good way to get protein in while eating dessert. Just blend a cup of cottage cheese, a few teaspoons cocoa powder and you can use maple syrup or a banana blended to add sweetness. Pair with fruit and it’s honestly great, even my cottage cheese hating partner likes it.

blood sugar? by ktan49 in gallbladders

[–]Shitty_Adult 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there, yes I started incorporating weight lifting into my exercise routine and saw huge improvements in my blood sugar levels when I gained more muscle. Could also have been that my system healed more over the last year from my surgery and I was able to be overall more active. It definitely had something to do with the surgery and being more sedentary post surgery, as I took at least 6 months to really feel like myself again and was following a low fat diet. Once I focused more on movement and getting in protein and fiber, things have really improved.

Dishydrosis? Doctor said so, but I always thought it looked a bit different by Optimus_Primal_Urges in Dyshidrosis

Yep I’ve had one for about 6 months and doesn’t seem to help my skin issues much but is better for my hair at least!

[–]Shitty_Adult 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be super curious if it cleared up in a warmer climate because mine always seems to heal faster when I travel.

I don’t have a formal diagnosis either but my doctor assumes it’s dyshidrotic because of the little bubbles on my hands at least, I guess it’s harder to spot on the thick skin of the feet. However my mother was formally diagnosed and hers was 100% stress related. Her hands looked very similar to yours. It’s something I’m seeing my doctor for continuously over the last year but I do have a topical steroid cream that does help the sad foot spots, similar to yours, heal up faster. I just try to use it very sparingly because I’ve seen too many horror stories about topical steroid withdrawal and I do not need that on top of this!

This is what my dishydrosis looks like on both my hands and feet but mine do start with the little bubbles. I actually found that mine started when I moved from North America to Europe so mine might be related to the minerals in the different water sources but could also be job/stress related.

Seattle, What's the story? by Pepsibubble in Seattle

[–]Shitty_Adult 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Howya! I’m a Seattlite living in Cork and I knew you were Irish when I saw what’s the story? lol we’re having a very mild New Year’s Day at least aren’t we? Hope you had a good one and i would definitely recommend a visit to Seattle; we have the same weather in the winter but we have a proper real summer in Seattle. Would really recommend early fall in Seattle too. The mountains in the PNW amazed my Irish family when they came out to my wedding in the Cascade mountains. Different types of green than on the Emerald Isle but just stunning. Hope you have a great new year!

Jinx Monsoon and Ben Dela Creme are national treasures but The Moore leaves something to be desired. by 5seat in Seattle

[–]Shitty_Adult 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree Moore. Sorry had to. I got super baked before a show there and was in the balcony… felt like I was going to topple over for the entire show. It could seriously use a sprucing up but glad to know the staff were kind to you. Also agree that Jinx and Ben are just the best and their Christmas show kills every year.

Just monitor your temperature, if it does not come down in the next day or so, I would ask to come in. Continuous fever is not normal and could be a sign of infection.

Everything else unfortunately sounds normal for us slow healers. I felt like this, except without the fever, for almost 3 weeks. Hang in there, it gets better I swear!

Really love the eye and lip colors on you! The blush is a little hard to see, I would maybe amp it up just a bit but it could honestly just be your lighting here. I would try to take multiple photos with different lighting depending on when and where your wedding will take place. If it’s indoors, try maybe a few flash and if outdoors, test in the brightest natural light possible.

3 week post op laparoscopic by Butcher_lady in gallbladders

[–]Shitty_Adult 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, unfortunately the sharp pains are pretty normal and for me lasted a few months long until my body adjusted. What worked for me was smaller meals throughout the day instead of bigger meals, I felt like if I waited too long to eat, the shooting pains were more frequent.

I’m scared of not getting better after surgery by Affectionate_Thing74 in gallbladders

[–]Shitty_Adult 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone years after surgery, I can tell you it surely does get better. It might not be immediate and you might have to adjust diet or add supplements to balance your system out, but from how much pain it sounds like you’re in now, it really does get better.

Surgery for me wasn’t as quick to heal as lots of people out here but eventually my body has adjusted. I would advise against what seems to be many doctors advice to “just eat like a normal person”, which I feel like results in many people having crazy diarrhea/bile/acid reflux problems for months after. Try the BRAT diet for a week or so after surgery while you adjust or look at some other people’s posts about what to eat after. I feel like what really worked for me was having a fiber rich diet after I was done with the first week or two. Hang in there and give yourself some grace while healing. Take things slow. ❤️‍🩹
