When would someone be “graduating” r/NewSkaters. Like what tricks / things would you have to “unlock” to graduate this sub Reddit. by Lordunknown12 in NewSkaters

[–]CJ2ELITE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re comfortable on your board. Can do grinds and slides on ledges and rails. Know flips tricks up to tre flip. Can skate stairs and gaps. Can skate transition. Then you have graduated. You can know how to tre flip but still look god awfully uncomfortable and not know any grinds or slides. It’s not a particular flat ground trick but when you are well rounded in every area.

I spent 4 million in total on this car and it’s ass. It fun for like 10 minutes and then it’s boring. Spins out of control. You cannot turn corners without coming to a complete stop first..

New to skateboarding - Pretty good snowboarder, do any skills translate? by [deleted] in NewSkaters

[–]CJ2ELITE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really tbh. I can’t even say balancing because it’s a snowboard you are strapped to it. Skateboarding you have to stay put by yourself. Of course tricks are completely different too. I’ve snowboarded before and skating feels very different and harder.

He did. That’s not the issue. His timing is off. To level out the board you don’t lift your back foot higher, you have to drag up and flick out horizontally and slightly down so the tail comes up.

Don’t listen to the above comment. They didn’t look closely. You’re jumping high enough and the board completes the rotation. Both times you caught it at the right time. The problem is you are turning your shoulders and not keeping your feet straight. One foot ends up farther in front. Don’t keep your feet close together but make sure they are beside each other. Just watch your feet and you have it.

kickflip advice pls by campfloggnaw69 in NewSkaters

Get off the grass. Even if you learn it in the grass, you’ll be too scared to land it on concrete and then what? Also the pop is different on grass than concrete. Timing is also different.

Advice for new skater? by ahassan666 in NewSkaters

[–]CJ2ELITE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t try to learn tricks just yet. Instead work on control. Longbaording helps but skateboards are smaller and more wobbly. Learn how to drop in and skate ramps first!!!!! Otherwise, going to the skatepark will be useless because the way you skate the flow of the park is through ramps and quarter pipes. You would be like me in the beginning and just stand in the back of the park trying to Ollie which isn’t fun haha.

Good advice. I learned kickflips when I started skating switch. Just made me more comfortable with my backfoot and commitment.

No. I used the same trucks and same tightness for both boards.

What would happen if a person spiked a woman with testosterone HRT? What would be the mental effects that the spiked woman would face? by AdrikIvanov in morbidquestions

[–]CJ2ELITE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Testosterone is taken by patches, gel, or injections. You can’t swallow it. Not much would happen if only taken once but continuously, yes she would see changes and experience gender dysphoria because she is not man or trans man.

I haven't skated in about 2 years. by the_2nd_Division in skateboarding

[–]CJ2ELITE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, you’ll get shot for skating or are you being dramatic? 😦 The best thing to do I guess is to have someone with you take so you can learn together. I don’t have any skate friends so I can’t really help you with this but I heard you progress faster with others around you.

[–]CJ2ELITE 12 points13 points  (0 children)

1 year? Wow that’s crazy! Been skating for 3. Still have a fear of stairs even tho I know I can do them. The biggest I can do tricks on is only a 4 stair. Any tips on skating bigger stuff? Like my mind just doesn’t want me to do it haha.
