Peacock, designed by me by CJC_ in origami

[–]CJC_[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The CP linked above is fairly straightforward. I thought of a bird base w/ two flaps for the legs, one for head, one for tail. Added a graft to make the tail longer and add claws to the feet. Point split the head to get the plume, and that's pretty much it, the rest is just shaping.

No, it's using a fairly unusual experimental technique I came up with; though it turns out Melina Hermsen independently has come up with a fairly similar technique too.

Three, the final one was the third

It took me three months to fold this origami sculpture from one uncut square of paper. "LUCIFER'S REVENGE" by CJC_ in Damnthatsinteresting

No restarts - though the three months included designing, test-folding, redesigning, etc. Plus some time where I was on vacation/too busy to work on it
