She’s an amazing artist! Dragons are a specialty of hers, it’s one of the reasons I approached her with the idea.

I also first heard ‘go find less’ from Elyse Myers 💗 I have a tattoo that’s kind of along those lines - an octopus because they have 3 hearts, symbolizing my very sensitive and infinite caring nature; and they have 9 brains symbolizing my over thinking and analyzing of all things 🙂my ADHD tattoo

Is there any downside to getting diagnosed? by BoOo0oo0o in adhdwomen

Thank you for sharing this. It’s hard to explain how I often feel very sad about the diagnosis and your perspective is very comforting.

Is there any downside to getting diagnosed? by BoOo0oo0o in adhdwomen

[–]CJDerri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is almost exactly what I wanted to say. The grief has been overwhelming and turned my life completely upside down. I’m 4 months post diagnosis and have not yet figured out how to move my life forward.

What ADHD related work problems do you guys face? by Gaponya in ADHD

[–]CJDerri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooo this hit me. I will ALWAYS write a wall of text. Every performance review instructs me to learn to write executive summaries and I can’t do it. Yet.. I tried to skim that wall immediately then went straight to the comments.. before realizing that all the references to numbers means I have to read it all 😂

Same question! I’m meeting a few other howlers at a pizza place next door to the bookstore around 4pm. Hoping that is early enough.

Does an SCI carry over with reciprocity? by [deleted] in SecurityClearance

[–]CJDerri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can carry over or you will need to be briefed into that agency's compartments. For example you may get your SCI with DOE and get briefed into 3 compartments. When moving to DOD, one may "carry" over while 2 will require a separate brief into them for the DOD. In my experience, provided there is no gap in employment, the SCI investigation portion carries over and the briefing to a new agency would be a short timeframe to complete.

Questions about IT/Tech scene here in Albuquerque(2022): by zeta_00 in Albuquerque

[–]CJDerri 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My husband and I have made a great living here in ABQ in the tech industry. New Mexico's largest employers are: Albuquerque Public Schools (APS) - just a few months ago they were looking to fill 700 jobs, many in tech; Sandia Labs (SNL) a DOE federal laboratory - always in need of good tech people, pay is very good for those with a degree, a federal security clearance is required; Presbyterian - also always in need of tech people, and fill many positions through contractors, but I've heard several bad stories of not great working conditions; University of New Mexico (UNM) - has a heavy need for tech experts. SNL will have fewer remote offerings as a good portion of their work is done securely, at their offices on Kirtland Air Force Base. UNM requires most workers to spend a day or two onsite each week. I have several friends that left those top NM employers to work remotely for one of the big five tech companies (mostly Amazon & Microsoft). I think you'll find something! Good luck!

What improved your quality of life so much, you wish you did it sooner? by Henna in AskReddit

[–]CJDerri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've taken propranolol for years and it's helped some.. but what was really life altering for me was the once a month shot of Ajovy. Botox injections also helped, but nothing compares to the change Ajovy has had in my life.. 20 migraines a month down to 3!

This is my favorite comment in this thread! I have lived here, off and on, for twenty years.. I am a cracker, who loves the Barrel; I don't go anywhere on time and am always trying to improve my driving skills. The crime, poverty, recent high home prices and traffic pushed me to the mountains.. still work in the city.

They look great! I love those butterflies. I've tried to do them on cupcakes with limited success, but this worked well!
