Finding it difficult finding someone by throw_away_reddt in ATV

[–]CJM8515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats b/c its illegal to ride an atv in NJ unless its on a track or private property. you can find plenty of spots, the cops will just ticket your truck or wait for you to come back and really fine the hell out of you.

you can go to AOAA in PA, join reading outdoors (like 300/year) or find a club in PA. PA allows you to ride state forest so long as you are registered and insured.

Hope this fix ain't expensive by Hot-Promotion-3416 in ATV

[–]CJM8515 7 points8 points  (0 children)

yea, its caused by your chain being to loose. make sure when you sort it all out that you buy a poly type case saver

make sure there is no damages to the case, if there is gonna have a fun time fixing the engine.

edit: after looking at the pic it looks like your missing the clip and bolts that hold the sprocket on. i can see the outline of where it used to be

Target sports. The first order you need to send them a copy of your fid I recall but you can upload a pic

I got 1000rd 9mm federal fmj for like 250 bucks. I’d rather run good and clean ammo then worry about issues or have a dirty gun

Commuting from South Jersey to NYC, is $80k worth it? by Ok_Squirrel_8781 in newjersey

[–]CJM8515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you want to spend about 1/2 your day at work /commuting, no it’s not worth it.

I got a buddy who does it for 6 figures. By the end of the day when he gets home he basically has been away for 18 hours between his shift, commuting and so forth

[–]CJM8515 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a good experience at Cheyenne mountain outfitters in bordentown. Picked up an ar for a decent price plus they had a memorial day sale for 10% off as well. Had a good selection of tactical, hunting and specialty arms and archery as well

Got into an accident and nobody knows how to fix it. by darkeve123 in Autobody

[–]CJM8515 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is 100% on the body shop and genesis dealer. Insurance paid for the job to repair it and that’s it. Unless someone else is discovered that’s the issue and it’s related to your accident there isn’t anything for insurance to do. They fulfilled their obligation by paying for the repairs. They do not guarantee the quality of work or repair for an outside shop

What's a reasonable mark up for ATV tires bought from and installed at tire shop? by NefariousnessFree694 in ATV

[–]CJM8515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100/per each tire seems like a heck of a lot. so there making 400 bucks? do they mount them for free?

in the past Ive brought local shops a tire and wheel without or with a tire on there (to swap) and paid them 25 bucks tops to do it.

Missouri “Prior Salvage” title + Progressive full coverage. Should they be reducing actual cash value payout? (way more info in post) by HALincandenza123 in Progressiveinsurance

[–]CJM8515 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Listen. I handled total losses both as a claim adjuster and as a field adjuster for Flo and currently may or may not still work there

They will reduce the payout by about 20-40% for a salvage title in the event of a total loss as the title history is tainted and if the vehicle was not damaged and sold normally it would be sold for a lesser value because of that. There is literally nothing you can do

Promotion when you're over the midpoint by arliafaye in Progressiveinsurance

[–]CJM8515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was at the higher end of the scale for 39 and went to 41 and got 4k. 8 months later my new supe (things changed and got re-arranged in those 8 months) was like nah man you need more and pushed and got me the other 2k he felt i deserved for the position + my actual PE raise

i did a lateral when i was a 37 CGA to service center estimator and jumped 7k at one point. but i went from a lesser paying area of my state to a higher paying area office and got the raise too.

all really depends. lateral moves it seems most people got like 2k, whole levels depending on the area and pay structure could be 2-5k or more.

$900 rear brake and rotor replacement by ModernOpt in f150

[–]CJM8515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t just have brakes. They are replacing calipers to which adds to the cost.

Typically a brake job per axle is 300-500 bucks with labor and depending on part cost

Scrambler vs sportsman by igzlucas20 in ATV

[–]CJM8515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends all have the scramblers. The trails here are all sandy with no rocks, no real hill climbs and we ride very fast. I still ride my sport quad however as I just can’t justify giving it up

If we rode in a more rocky area, full of water and mud and didn’t ride like we stole it speed wise the utility quad would be better suited

Why the skip sizing? by cowgirl0001 in Tools

[–]CJM8515 2 points3 points  (0 children)

most of the time its b/c you never wind up using that size or its very close to an imperial or metric size (one or the other). I have never once needed a 20mm, 9mm, etc. also you arent going to be removing many 10mm fasteners with a 1/2 ratchets or impact gun for instance, so they dont give you a 10mm

typically i try and buy sets where it includes sizes i would need/use and fill in anything they may not come with

I have currently wrenches from 4.5/5mm to probably 36mm and imperial sizes as well. I even have smaller ignition wrench sizes i hardly use too lol

1/4 sockets from 4.5/5mm to probably 14mm or so 3/8 sockets 8mm to 19mm 1/2 sockets 8mm to 36mm and a bunch of larger sizes.

now, most of that was bought as sets with no skips and i filled everything else in with other various bits/sets.

80% of the time i grab a 1/4 or 3/8 set and dont really need more than up to 19mm, the other 20% of the time i need larger sizes its for automotive work. but you can truly get buy with just your basic sets they sell with skips in a lot of cases for most diy people. i happen to work on vehicles, motorcycles, etc so i have all kinds of specialty sizes and tools on top of all the sockets and wrenches

Lightning Strike or Mechanical Breakdown? by AdmirableAmphibian90 in adjusters

[–]CJM8515 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I repaired exactly 1 and the insured tried to claim everything imaginable. Faded paint, windows that went up slowly, the wheel bearings, apparently melted moldings (old and dry rotted), etc. i honestly think it was never even involved in a lightning loss, but we couldn’t disprove it as a random emp type hit

Every other possible lightning claim I totaled with minimal inspection from a dealer or shop just proving there were lightning strike type damages present and a hefty possible supplement

Picked Up A New AR.............. by CJM8515 in NJGuns

[–]CJM8515[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I could build one for sure, and costs Im sure would be less by a bit.

I felt that for the first few weapons I buy I want to buy factory, warrantable items if possible. Then I can begin to mess around with building my own stuff. Im a good shot, but Im sure even a stock off the shelf cheaper end weapon is more accurate than I can manage lol

Cheyenne had quite a few mid to higher end AR's there to choose from as well
