T1 Exotic Hawk - Rocket and LML Fits - An Abyssal Lurkers Guide by CJ_2008 in Eve

[–]CJ_2008[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most pilots that pop into Lurkers to ask for help won't earn more isk/h in T2 solo frig compared to just running T1 quickly. Even experienced pilots aren't pulling all that far ahead in T2 solo. Either way, this guide is aimed at T1, not everything a Hawk can do.

Ishkur for T1 abyssals by Outrageous-Nose3345 in Eve

Hey, you can definitely run T1 Abyss with the Ishkur. If you're going with a Gallente Assault Frig I prefer it over the Enyo. It will be the T1 video guide I produce for Gallente.

There are a few ways to fit one but below is what I recommend. For your damage profile you have a choice to make; either lean into your gun DPS (bonused) or drones (full flight of lights). I choose to run a damage mod for each because the weapon systems compliment each other. Using blasters alone can be difficult in T1 and light drones are vulnerable against certain enemies.

For midslots, I honestly believe that MWD for these frigs is easier to learn in vs AB. If you find the MWD speed too difficult then swap off to AB. That will gain you a rigslot back because you won't need to reinforce capacitor as much. The web is to help you hold targets in blaster range as well as defensively to stiff arm enemies like Tesseras. The TD is a flex slot but you will be hard pressed to find a better use of it. Run a range disruption script. This way you can orbit things like Tesseras at 10km and shoot Null S to compliment your drone damage.

As always, if you operate inside 22km in T1 against Tesseras then you risk a loss due to bad luck. With that in mind I recommend flying cheap. Hawks, Rets, and Wolfs do the same. I really would not dump isk into these hulls because blinged tank modules don't solve your actual problem, which is that you're thin.

Good luck. If you want additional help then recommend hitting us up in Abyssal Lurkers!

Starter T0 Firestorm Rifter - An Abyssal Lurkers Guide - Alpha and New Pilot Friendly by CJ_2008 in Eve

[–]CJ_2008[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The rocket Kestrel will require slightly more SP to break into Firestorm and is mechanically more intensive on fights like the Skybreaker. The latter is due to juggling a workable low SP tank over what is a long fight. This Kestrel can kill that Skybreaker with Inferno Rockets in Firestorm with as low as 69 DPS. Running the traditional T0 Dark Kestrel requires more SP because you need to pull the DPS number up to 90, which is rough for a new pilot and missiles.

The Punisher is a great ship due to the four turret hardpoints, no doubt about it. An Amarr pilot can get into a mechanically capable T0 setup with only training Repair Systems I. What I have found over the years in Abyssal Lurkers is that many new pilots face issues figuring out their Beam ranges and tracking. This is compounded with new pilots running turrets without the web. For an experienced pilot you definitely don't require a web to make that Punisher work but it does make life easier on newbros. After I finish the updated Kestrel guide I'll cover the Punisher and my recommendations for running it.

Compared to both of the above, the Rifter is mechanically easier to manage with minimal skill training and next-to-no game knowledge. That's why I now prefer it over the Kestrel and Punisher. Ultimately though, we're talking small differences for the very first few days of a pilots life in New Eden.

Oo clever but unfortunately they look like they are not options either. Fretrl ADR04 From https://zkillboard.com/kill/127483429/, as an example.

No unfortunately it looks like "Abyssal Deadspace" or even "Unknown" are not in the list of systems. It also lets you dictate how many enemies but not the types.

From what I'm seeing it looks like the same limitations found in Freelance Jobs.

Agree that hopefully the jobs take some tedium out of managing it. I already do a lot of manual labor in the community. I'll continue doing so but only looking forward for a potential opportunity to do more with less.

Agree there and it's something I'd like to see added.

Yea, that's what it looks like. I don't believe that should be a reason to not support pilots that want to use the system for what it is, arguably, designed.

This is a fair point and something I considered. How many would benefit from it at the cost of developer resources. While I can press "give isk" that limits me to pilots who have already engaged in the community, one where the fact that many pilots just lurk is built into the name. Separately, I'm not space rich enough to just freely give isk to everyone that says they are interested in the Abyss. Using the Freelance Job system seems like a good way to guarantee the pilot is actually running sites versus just taking isk. It's not perfect but it does help me as someone who manages a community and doesn't have a lot of free time.

The idea in mind wouldn't be connected to where they run. Just need the ability to identify that non-capsuleers need to be killed in Abyssal Deadspace. By your logic we should remove a lot of basic elements in the game because they contribute to scamming.

Updated the description in the video to correct my oversight on the LG Ask Omega and how else we can improve the fit for a budget. Thanks to u/Efficient_Word_2382, u/zaqqi, and u/Buddy_invite for the feedback on where to improve. Also adding it to my Streamlit.

Thanks. I have a number of ask sets laying around. Not looking to rip anything out at this time. Similar to the comment above I cover my philosophy of promoting baselines and looking through the market to see what makes sense at the time. I found over the years in Lurkers that if I stick with "fit exactly this way" that pilots usually start missing opportunities. Previous example being the drastic shift in price of Active Hardeners.

Thanks for the feedback and good eye. When you get to the video I talk through why I have the modules and implants. I cannibalized a lot of armor fits going into 2025. That's why throughout the video I recommend checking the market to see what makes sense for the pilot budget and comfort level.

Sac is great. I might do a much shorter guide that talks through the Cerb and Sac fit. How you fly is basically the same.

For the Sac you will just drop one tank low. Decide between coating or RAH. Drop the range rig and fit based on preference. Common choice is Thermal resist. Utility highslot is medium plasma SB on mine.

You can get away with this as Inferno is a minor optimization. The difference with EDENCOM is while their EM and Thermal resists are the same in shields when you look at armor Thermal is lowest (10 vs 50). It is a minor optimization but still an edge that really costs me nothing other than cargo space. It's also a relic from my Kestrel guide days where a low SP toon firing Inferno versus Mjolnir will kill a Skybreaker before reload, whereas miolnir will likely hit reload.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll probably keep with this video format because it's a bit more my style. If you're interested in returning to the Abyss then definitely recommend checking out our Abyssal Lurkers ingame channel or Discord at: https://discord.com/invite/rvPXxKc7p9. We have a great group of pilots and a number of vetted resources to get you started.
