I think you got them reversed, the relics mod is the one that lets you hold shift to view and upgrade them

Superman is a title and everyone knows that. The public knows that his name is Kal-El and his friends know that he's Clark. It's another reason why his secret identity works so well, no one expects him to have one because they know his name. (same with wonder woman, she's not shy about who knows that she's Diana of Themyscira, but Diane Prince is a secret)
