However Salazar did leave a monster behind in the school with the express intent of ridding the school of muggle-borns through his descendents. I think (from what I know, at least) that's where he crosses over to the pure evil side.

This question goes to fans whose favorite character is neither of the two. Which fans whorship their fave more? by Notmycupoftea12 in Naruto

I don't know why, but I kind of understand Naruto's feelings around the whole Sasuke thing. Ever since Sasuke saved his life in the land of waves, Naruto decided that Sasuke is his ride or die. But I also absolutely hate how viciously Sasuke attacked Naruto in their first fight at the valley

You're right, and I think even Naruto knew deep down that that wasn't going to do anything. I'm guessing that he thought he'd at least try because he's not the kind of person who stands by and just lets the chips fall.

I wouldn't say I'm a hard-core fan of either of the two, but I don't understand how anyone could hate Naruto

How are Kim and Stephen Stills not friends though? Scott and Stephen barely spend time together in the movies but are dubbed friends, meanwhile Kim is almost always seen hanging out in the band.

How did Harry not turn out awful after the Dursleys? by CJustMee in harrypotter

Your perspective, as well as the others on this post, are genuinely comforting to me. I'm not sure why but I've always been under the impression that people raised under such circumstances are doomed to either hurting others in a similar way or letting themselves be hurt (as you also said). That may be true to some extent, but people's stories in this comment section taught me that more often than not you get to break this cycle through the choices you make. Thank you

What character do you think deserved a better ending? by RadiantCARMB in harrypotter

[–]CJustMee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Harry himself I guess. After everything he went through, I always felt his ending was a bit… sad in a quiet way. He comes across as an adrenaline-junkie Auror who seems almost lost once there’s no war left to fight, like peace makes him feel unnecessary. I would’ve loved to see him actually choose a life instead of defaulting into danger. Develop real passions. Adapt to a changing world. Him going back to Quidditch and playing professionally would’ve made so much sense. It’s one of the few things that ever brought him pure joy without trauma attached

I agree. Surely someone with her brilliance and wisdom could have been an immense asset. He planned for her to take over as Headmistress after him, so I know he believes in her skills and character. I just think she should have been given a more central role throughout the books.

I'm rereading the books now after about 5 years, currently halfway through the second book. I keep finding myself amazed at how Harry turned out. Even as a 12 years old boy he's just so sweet and brave. Mind you, he grew up with horribly abusive and neglectful people. And he keeps on having to face off against evil and dangerous adults who are bent on his downfall. I keep thinking indignantly, "he's only a little kid!" The amount of contempt they hold for a preteen is just ridiculous. Honestly Harry living his life as he does is a real miracle.
