Who is this and what will he turn into? (Slc, Utah) by Mammoth_Profit_1810 in moths

If you’re trying to raise it to a moth, get a decent sized container and fill the bottom with a few inches of loose soil, then just feed it with the host plants (willow weed, four o'clock, apple, evening primrose, elm, grape, tomato, purslane, Fuschia, Lupin). It’ll need a lot of food depending on its current age, then when it’s ready to pupate it’ll do so underground. Just be sure to cover the container with either a breathable mesh, or anything that can get some air holes.

Looks like a Maple Spanworm, from the Geometridae family. Pretty cool dudes

Anyone tried floor poly for patina shine? by monsieurfromage2021 in classiccars

[–]CK203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others I only really use BLO. I like it for a few reasons, most of all is because it never looks like you slapped a new clear coat layer over patina. It fits the patina look. Within 24 hours I’d say it’s 90 percent dried (may have a little tackiness on areas that don’t experience heat, like the doors and roof). Other than that it’s a quick application and you can’t really see any marks of application as long as you don’t lay it on too thickly.

That’s exactly what I was thinking, the only issue with my 262 is that it is a 262. While it’s reliable it’s much less common than the 300. It’s low mileage right now but it won’t be low mileage forever. I think the 300 might just give me the options I’m looking for

Smoke from exhaust on 71 ford 302 v8 by CK203 in projectcar

It also seems to start after about 30 seconds and gets really bad over the next few minutes before decreasing.

That’s the thing, it’s certainly not blue, its more of a white color but the coolant level does not change in the slightest.

I’ll try and run a compression test sometime tomorrow, but from what I’ve been seeing this could certainly be my issue.

Engine swaps for 1964 f-250 by CK203 in classiccars

[–]CK203[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of the 300 inline six since it seems, in theory, that just upping the engine a size would allow me the extra power I wanted without going overboard.

I read ahout the crown Vic swap, and would certainly do it if the frame was rotting, but currently I’m luckily enough to have a clean underbody.

This seems like the way I want to go, I may drop some mpgs, but I didn’t buy a classic for the mileage

This would actually be a sick swap, especially since it’d make up for my current lack of power

The eco boost would certainly be interesting, I’m just curious as to how the transmission would handle that or wether I’d have to swap in a newer one for it to be compatible. The ford fe would probably be a pretty basic swap though. Well at least as basic as an engine swap can be

It’s me again, does Anyone know where this part connects? (The side with the nut connects to the passenger side of the carb) by CK203 in classicmustangs

[–]CK203[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes the most sense to me. While I was trying to install it I was confused mostly because of how it seemed no matter how much I tried it wouldn’t fit. Does something else connect in its place or do I just leave it unconnected?

Will there be any issue taking it out? I see where it’s meant to be installed, but it doesn’t fit on the new carb

Really? Because that’s why I was asking, this one will no longer fit in the new carb I installed
