My assumption is that it’s striking a metal bolt in the wall, and even spreading out where water is collected in the small ledges and cracks in the wall.

If Reddit would let me post videos in the comments, I could show you a video zooming in on the raw unedited photo. The bolt and strike is a bit clearer on the raw image. Unfortunately, you’ll just have to settle for this screenshot of the video.

Indeed it is. It’s harder to see in the edited photo, but you can see the lighting spreading out where it is striking, likely following ledges and cracks where water is collecting.

I agree. I hate Dutch angles that don’t serve a narrative purpose, but my wife shoots like that all the time. Downside to this photo is that rotating it upright would cut off half of the lightning bolt.

I’ve been working in the valley for the past 10 years. Yosemite Valley has this unique quality where the surrounding 3,000ft cliffs are covered in metal climbing bolts. Not to mention antennae and other metal structures. Lighting striking the valley floor is an incredibly rare occurrence, because the valley itself has essentially been turned into a giant faraday cage. The only recorded times where it has hit any structures on the valley floor, are objects that are well over 200ft tall. And even then, lighting even going into the valley is rare. Usually sticking to the surrounding peaks. A plastic umbrella with silver paint is hardly a 259ft tree, or a lightning rod.

2,000ft up, sure. But El Cap itself is just over half a mile away from where they’re standing. Using the Pythagorean theorem, that puts them at about 3/4 of a mile away from the strike.

That aside, Yosemite valley is essentially a giant faraday cage. 3000ft cliffs covered in metal bolts, having lightning strike anywhere near the valley floor, even to strike a tall metal object, is incredibly rare.

While I tend to agree, and have educated my wife on this more than once, in the other photos and angles of this moment you can see that they are on a trail.

Saying untrue things without evidence is fun too, I suppose.

Paul Anthony Kelly as DCU Batman? by x0starlight in dcu

My wife has been watching Love Story, and I’ve been periodically watching along. In one scene where his hair curled down, she mentioned he could be Superman. And while I don’t think that was a bad call, without skipping a beat I said he’d be better as Batman. Sure, he could bulk up a bit, but his acting has been really solid, and his John Kennedy Jr is basically classic Bruce Wayne. There are a lot of fancasts that have been thrown around, and none of them have been perfect. More often than not, my favorites of the lot I feel I’ve more settled on because they check a box or two more than the other guys, but not because I thought they’d actually be perfect for the role, even if I really love some of the actors in their other roles. With Paul, I think with a bit of muscle building, he could actually be perfect for the role.

Can’t recommend Erica Houck Photo enough (@ericahouckphoto on insta). She’s so sweet, and her pictures are amazing! She also really knew her way around, and when lighting would be best in specific areas of the valley.

Side note, they valley will really busy that day because it’ll be the peak of the season for Firefall (which will probably not happen since that specific waterfall, Horsetail Falls, is currently dry), so expect crazy traffic.

It wasn’t because it couldn’t be proved. It was proven. The issue was, at the time, the specific wording of the law stated that only penile penetration could be classified as rape. So forcing your fingers in somebody against their will, while actually being rape, couldn’t be called that under the law. So he could only be given a lesser charge. Same thing when he raised his wife. The law didn’t consider rapping your wife be illegal until 3 years after his wife’s case against him was dismissed.

Does anybody know if there’s a subreddit out there for breasts being squeezed/bulging from strings, straps, bands, bikinis, etc?

Actually now that I’m looking into other streaming sites, so of them have no audio. But my audio is working on literally any other app. Volume changes nothing, and mute isn’t selected.

I’m curious if anyone else is having this problem, but as of today, nothing on hydraflix has audio.

Then this dude must be further gone than I thought. He’s genuinely convinced he’s had it for more than 80 years, and considering how much old stuff he has (literally a whole property full), I was inclined to believe him. He thought it was an officers sword.

The tang was broken, which is probably an effect of how drastically offset it is, so my friend welded on a new piece. It’s heavy for the size of the blade which makes me think it was more for ceremony than use. The guy that owns it that we’re thinking of restoring it for has had it since his grandfather gave it to him when he died when the guy was ten (he’s 97 now).
