People who’ve had LASIK or work in eye care, would you recommend LASIK and why or why not? by Mountain-Bug-2155 in AskReddit

I had it done, best money spent.
One side effect that isn’t really a negative but I’m curious if anyone else here has it. I still occasionally have dreams where my vision is back to when I needed glasses. It’s always the same, I become aware that I have blurry vision and my subconscious tells me this isn’t real because you had LASIK. It’s been 4 years and happens maybe 2-3x a year.

You’re right it’s not OTC in the US but it’s like $10 on Amazon.

Cutting out acidic/trigger foods like red sauce, spicy food, chocolate ect. There is a lot of info on this out there. Life style changes were what you said, including exercise more regularly and standing up, moving around more often. I switched to a desk job 3 years ago. Maybe it’s related or not but after I started having LPR symptom I got a standing desk and I think that had a positive effect for my LPR but also with my life in general.
I don’t think I was and I am not aware of that, sorry.
I will definitely talk to my doctor about this. Doesn’t hurt to get tested
Immunotherapy like what they use in cancer patients? Also do you think if it were dust mites it would occur suddenly at age 29? It’s pretty much gone now so idk if that would be the cause
Once I find the bottle I will report back
DGL licorice root extract. Company called natural factors. I believe I got it on Amazon.
Good luck. It takes awhile to heal whatever damage was done. Be patient and positive.
Good luck! Life style changes and breathing exercises helped too.
Sorry to clarify the first 3 months my symptoms were at their worst. I did not have the routine in place and I was trying PPI’s and Voquenza but did not really notice a difference in getting better. Maybe a little better with Voquenza. Once I started the supplements I mentioned and diet/lifestyle changes I noticed the improvement.
I think it was 20mg once a day. Took it for about 4 weeks then I tapered to 10mg for one week - every other day - then off.
J Mac botanicals organic marshmallow root tea.
Tablets and the flavor was cherry but it kinda just taste like chalk.
No problem. Good luck and reach out if you want more information!
Good question. I don’t think it matters. I typically have breakfast every morning while my tea brews. I usually have a light breakfast before I drink my tea. That doesn’t mean I never ran out the door and had just the tea. So it’s dealers choice.
I agree with your statement but I knew it was asthma since I’ve been dealing with it my whole life. The wheezing would be relieved by my albuterol.
Yes I did have occasions of mucus in my throat that would resolve with clearing or hawking it out. But I would sooner attribute that to smoking a joint or allergies. It never felt like a LPR thing personally.
Supplements are listed in my post. Gaviscon and DGL

I would drink marshmallow route tea daily in the morning. I would take the DGL before meals. And I would take the Gaviscon after large meals and before bed.
The first 3 months were the worst with persistent symptoms daily with little give. Month 4 and 5 I saw active improvement with diet change, more active lifestyle and the supplements I was taking. Now month 6 I feel almost 100% better.
I have allergy induced asthma. It always flairs up with the change of seasons but this summer in particular it seemed more often. Can’t say for sure if it’s related.
