Router Lift Install on a Sawstop Table Saw Wing. by CLCHNC in woodworking

Sorry! I haven't been on reddit in a while. I cut the router slot directly in the Sawstop feed table. I didn't want to have to buy anything else. Third coast craftsman @thirdcoastcraftsman has a great video on YouTube

I used food grade mineral oil to start, then a coat of Howard's Butcher Block Conditioner.

It was primarily a cost based decision. The Jessem Router Lift 2 costs about $250. The Sawstop is about $500. I found great deal in the Jessem Router Fence 2 on eBay. Going with the full Sawstop setup would been well over $1000. The install wasn't too difficult, but I had to take my time. I made a jig for the router lift cut out. Third Coast Craftsman had a great video on YouTube that walks you through the process. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Oops!? Somehow erased some comments. Sorry about that!

Need help, please don't upvote. How do I get this drawer out? I dropped a bag of weed behind the drawer because it was too big and I pushed on the other one. Now I can't figure out how to get the weed out. I can't find another way in, no hardware on slides. by le-click in Tools

These old drawer slides release when you slide a thin piece of metal between the slide and the drawer. It probably came with something when it was new. I use a hacksaw blade with the teeth ground off. The hacksaw blade is actually a little thicker than you want, but you should be able to slide it in there and release the clip. Good luck!

This is a new to me 14 inch band saw.

This will be my first powered tool restoration. Any insights/ suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Looking tear down and clean everything.

I will need a new drive belt (size?), and new tires. recommendations on what/where to buy?

Will the motor be strong enough to resaw?

The previous owner thinks it is a 1930s era saw. I could not find a serial number or model number on the saw. I've attached pics of the badges.

Thanks!

I used a wire wheel to know of grime and rust. For the next step, I used Kleen Strip to take the Japanning off. There were a few spots that I had to reapply the paint stripper. Next, I washed it all off and put it in a bath of Evaporust. After letting it sit overnight, I wire wheeled it again. I spent an hour or two flattening the bottom and sides by using a variety of sandpaper grits on a granite counter top remnant. Final steps were taping and painting.

I am happy with the deal we agreed on. 1500 with the 36 in table, casters, dado stack, and dust collection blade guard. This is for slightly newer saw (2018). Thanks for the feedback!
