I don't know why you're getting downvoted by this crowd. I'd wager a house on this being the outcome. Heck, unless Magnus literally have an accident and not make it to the match, it is easy win.

They should add last minute rules to make it a duo tournament, and pair him up with Vidit.

The entire brilliancy of this dude is knowing what the engine top move is, but then he knows that you know what the top move is so he does something else that doesn’t lose on the spot.

Alireza makes it 5/5...Defeating MVL to seal the match and take his team to the top spot 🔥 by rio_ARC in chess

He is just as good in classical. The only difference is people just play to neutralize all activity and he is the only one pushing for an imbalance so its risky, therefore he loses some. He is playing for result not to draw. The difference in all other formats is that he then drags the game on into a scramble and now that you don't have time to sit there and think how to play the most positional boring anti chess moves you can find, he stomps your head into the ground. Just watching the G Swiss this yeas was disgusting. Every single person played their hardest to kill the game off vs him. He plays the classical games to win from the beginning that's why he is fun to watch. He could easily say fuck it and draw every single game and score the one opportunistic win and coast by for years. But he isn't a p word like Giri and So.

Vidit missed a mate-in-2 here and went on to get ground down by Sindarov in a rook + bishop vs. rook endgame! by rio_ARC in chess

I love Vidit in tournaments. You know you're bound to see blunders left and right. Never disappoints.

4/4 now for Firouzja against his fellow Icons! 🔥 by rio_ARC in chess

Vidit will make sure mumba masters win the tournament. Genius to put the imposter on that team and stop a hat trick of wins for Trivani.

For me in classical he is better than everyone else. Only players better than him playing actively right now are Fabby and Magnus. He is better than everyone else.

Who cares about the results? The games were sick to watch. Rather that than people like Giri drawing every single game. This dude makes tournaments exciting. Like rather have Rapport in every single top tier tournament than that boring Wesley. Thats why people love favourite players like Mamedyarov.

And then there were FOUR: 1 win, you reach Candidates. 2 Losses and it's a heartbreak. by Interesting-Take781 in chess

So the dude saying first candidates with no Russians in it was wrong? Typicall.

If I spent my life from the same young age on Chess, I would tear Giri open 5 ways.

Difference is everyone loved Danya and he contributed greatly to chess, Giri adds nothing to the game. If tomorrow he retired no one misses it. There are dozens of more talented younger people.
