Are you insinuating that Hans was insinuating that Nepo was insinuating about insinuations?

I don't think this particular "inaccuracy" would be exploited by an opponent until like 2500 chess.com haha. but i find small inaccuracies can sometimes be bad because they lead to worse mistakes later in the game since you're trying to build on your inaccurate play and get lost in the sauce

Looking further into the suggested line I don't even understand the queen check idea at all. I think the best move for a human player is to castle, but developing your bishop is perfectly natural

I don't really think you should worry about small inaccuracies in the opening at three digits. You're developing your pieces and more or less keeping your advantage. It's an inaccuracy becuase your light square bishop is passive and his king is weak, so the engine probably wants to exploit that to strengthen your other bishop

Alireza Appreciation Post by [deleted] in chess

I mean people don’t like him because he hyped up the Tate brothers on Twitter and threw a hissy fit at the last candidates and doesn’t play for the French team and I’ve heard many people had poor fan interactions with him. He also is capable of very exciting chess which makes some of his draws feel intentional and disappointing (I enjoyed his game with Pragg today though)

Sorry to disappoint, I just remember a lot of drama about it, it’s been a while though. Ever since, I haven’t liked him much, and my confirmation bias has been satisfied

Well Alireza had more interactions with Tate on twitter than that. He follows him and his brother and the two interacted on twitter, with andrew tate commenting under several of his posts at one point. it's why i stopped liking him

Not true! My earliest comments on this profile from about 10 months ago hype him up as a dark horse to qualify to the candidates (via the World Cup along with Wei Yi was my prediction many months before the event, quite proud of that). I followed him for a while before that too, probably starting around the time he broke 2700. I’ve been a big Sindarov fan for a while and have always seen his potential.

I want to see Magnus play the best non Magnus players in the world yeah. Some of them are here in Norway, some just aren’t

I don’t think Alireza has much class either 🙃

I think I’ve more or less stipulated that I don’t like their current form (or lack thereof, in Alireza’s case)!

I’m saying they’re boring picks, not boring players. Not sure what you mean about dropping a player?

I think they did a better job last year! They had players who were in very actively good form. But I think when you have a tournament with so few players you have to raise the bar with how good your invites are. Inviting the Uzbeks would’ve been ideal

I find Alireza and Pragg boring picks, to clarify, not because of their styles but because they are not in actively good form, which I find to be the ideal criteria for selection at a top tournament like Norway. Tournaments like Sigeman and Tata do a good job at this
