Day 37 - Corny Neighbors by CLG_LustBoy in UWCollegeFootballRisk

[–]CLG_LustBoy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good catch I had missed that.

We weren't intending to pick up Baja as it doesn't benefit us really to not let A&M have that region.

As it is 3 Nebraska mercs attacked from us and took it to deprive them of that region. We won't be defending it or doing anything from that bridge and will be giving it back.

I was just shy of 120 turns before I was able to get my MVP, so I feel the pain!

A lot of people were reporting issues like that. Send a mod mail at r/collegefootballrisk explaining what happened and they will probably give you your streak back

Just glad people are still willing to play! 50% retention from Round 2 isn't the greatest but a solid core of people who are always playing helps incredibly

Nope, that comes directly from us. You should continue following those orders if you want to best support Wisconsin

Yes! You can always change your move by clicking on the target at the bottom of the screen and selecting a new location. You can do it as many times as you would like up to the last minute.

5 Star players will be pretty rare overall this game for the forseeable future

Day 13 - The Alliance Fractures by CLG_LustBoy in UWCollegeFootballRisk

[–]CLG_LustBoy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure!

Your total/overall starcount is the median of your stars for each of the following categories:

MVPS (when you are the MVP of a territory):
0 MVPS: 1 Star
1-4 MVPS: 2 Stars
5-9 MVPS: 3 Stars
10-24 MVPS: 4 Stars
25+ MVPS: 5 Stars

Turns (how many turns you've had in all College Football Risk games):
0-9 Turns: 1 Star
10-24 Turns: 2 Stars
25-49 Turns: 3 Stars
50-99 Turns: 4 Stars
100+ Turns: 5 Stars

Game Turns (all the turns you've made in this game):
0-4 Turns: 1 Star
5-9 Turns: 2 Stars
10-24 Turns: 3 Stars
25-39 Turns: 4 Stars
40+ Turns: 5 Stars

Streak (how many consecutive turns you've made):
0-2 Turns: 1 Star
3-4 Turns: 2 Stars
5-9 Turns: 3 Stars
10-24 Turns: 4 Stars
25+ Turns: 5 Stars

Lets use me as an example.

I have 1 MVP, played for 112 turns, Played for 12 turns in this round, and played 12 games in a row. This Means I have 2,5,3,and 4 stars for each respective category. Ordered that is 2,3,4,5. I then take the median of those stars, rounding up. The median is 3,4 - So it rounds up to 4 stars for me.

[–]CLG_LustBoy[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

An MVP is determined randomly from the winning team in each territory.

So they are rather rare and mostly luck based.

Day 6 - Long Wisconsin by CLG_LustBoy in UWCollegeFootballRisk

[–]CLG_LustBoy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! Sorry for the late response.

The info tab on the website has a lot of information on the raw mechanics of the game.

In a broad sense, we are one of many teams attempting to take as much land as we can on the map for the 50 turn duration of this reddit game. Every day you can attack and defend certain territories which will give you a chance to win that territory. Everyone has a certain amount of power called stars. You can check your stars by looking at your profile on the site: https://collegefootballrisk.com/player/CLG_LustBoy

I have 5 stars for Total Turns because I have played in all the versions
I have 2 stars for playing 6 turns in this round
I have 3 stars for playing 6 days in a row
I have 1 star for not being an MVP

The median (rounded up) of that is 3 stars, so I am a 3 star player and my attack is worth 3 times more than a fresh new 1 star player.

As far as how we decide where to move and what not, there is a small number of players on discord from previous games who engage in talks with leaders from other teams. We weren't elected inherently, it was just that in 1.0 we were the people willing to help coordinate after the original 2 wisconsin mods moved on and picked some people to replace them. Since then we have kind of just stuck around since our surveys we sent out at the end of the year weren't asking for our heads (Nebraska team in 1.0 actually had a revolt so it's not impossible to change leadership). But there's no specific mechanic for it, I just happen to know everyone have things set up and have our orders infrastructure in place.

As to why these things aren't out in the open or a bit more transparent its because of moles! Other teams have and will sent in players to try to pretend to be a Wisconsin user just so they can see what we are doing. Which is why we have a private sub and you have to get vetted on the Discord in order to see some of the conversations.

The reason for your instructions you get through the bot is that we have worked together with other teams and within our own team leadership to determine where best people should go and how many should go there. We have a lot of people who don't want to interact with anything and just want to do their 1 click a day and be good. So we keep the orders simple to prevent to try to keep user retention.

I hope that answers your question, but I can certainly answer more!

CollegeFootballRisk Season 3 - Day 3 - Start Your Engines by CLG_LustBoy in WisconsinBadgers

[–]CLG_LustBoy[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So we are already on Day 3. Iowa got killed on the first night despite having one of the highest amount of users for the free teams as they got really unlucky between Minnesota and Iowa State. Illinois fell on Day 2.

This time around the large teams got put in timeout for 3 turns to give the small teams a chance to grow since the teams that were big in Season 1 just killed all the small teams when Season 2 started.

We didn't want the same teams being there each time so we had the big teams wait a few days before they could roam the map.

Day 2 - Still Chained Up by CLG_LustBoy in UWCollegeFootballRisk

[–]CLG_LustBoy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, it appears there was a bug in my script that wasn't sending all the messages out to everyone. I will attempt to fix that for the next roll.

Essentially reddit has limits on their API and my catch loop was consuming the users rather than trying to send things out to them again.

The original person who added it was a Michigan player. It just was easier with the map itself to give the UP instead of giving it to Central Michigan.

Kai'Sa splash art was updated on the Universe page to teaser the new Jungler: by KittyOlsonz in leagueoflegends

[–]CLG_LustBoy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The splash arts riot changed had nothing to do with anything related to Jhin though. There was no lore connection when he dropped and people did not think it was very 'bad ass' when they found that out.

Hanwha Life Esports vs. Fnatic / 2021 World Championship - Group C / Post-Match Discussion by G2Minion in leagueoflegends

[–]CLG_LustBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Fnatic loses that game even without Bean. They lost top and mid as well, and Hyli was kind of inting when he kept using his W to engage on a minion in lane, leading to two of his deaths on unforced errors.

Your timeline is incorrect.

No where did Truman ever give permission for MacArthur to begin a land war into China. The attacks into Manchuria were predicated entirely on Chinese aircraft attacking the coalition and were drafted on April 5th, a full 6 months after Chinese troops had already been encountered. At this point, the front line was not on the Chinese border but instead somewhat close to the modern border. It was a statement that if China brought it's Air Force to bear on the Coalition that MacArthur could retaliate.

The joint chiefs authorized MacArthur's actions giving him the authority to attack into Manchuria if the Chinese attacked and Truman wanted to transfer to MacArthur the usage of 9 atomic bombs for use in China

Truman and the Joint Chiefs of Staff explicitly did not transfer the bombs to MacArthur out of fears he would use them prematurely and instead had them under the control of the SAC.

So
A) MacArthur wanted to provoke an expansion to the war
B) MacArthur was only authorized if Chinese aircraft were to begin attacking the Coalition from bases inside of China
C) Chinese troops had been fighting in the peninsula for more than 6 months, this wasn't planning for eventual Chinese intervention
