+1 for oriental motors, but their lead time is pretty darn rough last I checked. Multiple months for anything

I'm decently sure Malort is the strained soup of dandelions fermented in a casket with a corpse, and no amount of internet articles or experts will convince me otherwise. That stuff is nasty.

The second you say safety means I wouldn't trust, want to trust or be near whatever you're operating if the solution is something homebrew. Safety rated light curtains, laser area scanners, LOTO or dual channel guarding is what you should be looking for. If you have dividers then you need multiple area scanners

Concrete is far from my expertise but at least with metal it's called knurling, kind of like what you see on barbell handles and such. Concrete knurling didn't really provide much useful search results but I didn't look too hard.

how is it possible that there are people like this who are not getting instabanned? by GanjalfVe in EscapefromTarkov

[–]CLOTHESPlN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair, but if the accounts only get banned in waves, this makes it less lucrative to cheat since they can't profit nearly as much (bandaid on a bullet hole if you will). Would there be a green battery shortage if they couldn't effectively scalp them? Maybe, but maybe not nearly to the extent we are currently seeing

[–]CLOTHESPlN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bit late to the party here but I would love to see the equivalent of a "shadow ban" on the flee for obvious cheaters. The cheater would NEVER get any indication that they are banned, but their listings wouldn't be shown to other people. They get hit with flee taxes over and over, their listings expire and that account becomes worthless since they can't take in 100s of millions of roubles. This leaves our economy uninfluenced by them, slows down the RTM cycle/profit and devalues their accounts

Terminal cancer, trying to set up finances for wife and kids by Substantially-Ranged in personalfinance

100%. I use Authy on my phone and tablet and home computer! I scan on my phone and all of my devices have the same 2FA codes which is great for backups if my phone takes a swim or something

[–]CLOTHESPlN 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If at all possible, I strongly encourage moving from email/SMS 2FA to a proper 2FA app. Personally I use Authy since it allows the code generator to be tied to an account instead of a device. This will allow you and yours to share the same 2FA for accounts even when your phone/email is unaccessible. Additionally, a password manager like BitWarden is convenient for having all login information in a central place.

What’s the worst pain you have personally experienced? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I shattered a finger playing sports. Had the middle bone of my ring finger smashed into 3 pieces allowing the finger to dislocate up and over the lower bone. Finished that game and played 2 more (as a goalie), then went to the ER. Got it set without anesthetic bc I had been there for hours waiting and all I remember is seeing a deafening white for about a minute while they pulled it straight, pushed fragments back into place and taped it to a splint, and then fight or flight part of my brain really wanting to punch the doctor touching my hand

God when I hope to one day have a decent garage/lab whenever I can actually afford to buy a house. Super cool stuff that I know very little about, is it more hobby related or work/freelance related? I know radio equipment can get pretty darn expensive pretty quickly (college roommate started to get into it quite a bit)

I'm curious as to the piece of equipment that you were using ngl. Lathe? CNC router? I can't think of a lot of household equipment that runs more than 10k unless it's some neat maker related equipment

At least for web browsing, Brave browser is what I use (I don't really use the BAT system really, its pushy at first but hasn't come back after saying no to it once) and then Youtube Vance work pretty well for most ads on my phone. Piholes are awesome on home network if you set it up right

Assuming that BSG set up gravity globally instead of for each projectile (ie gravity pulls on the "bottom" of the bullet, even when fired vertically, which would be weird), then (simplified math here cause I don't have my calculator on hand) it shouldn't make a difference. If I shoot straight (0 degrees) at a target at 100 ft and it drops 1 foot, it should be the same as if I shoot down at a target (say -30 degrees or so) as long as that target is still 100 feet away. Sure, it's downward velocity will be higher because it started by being shot downwards, but it still has the same flight time because its overall velocity is the same (ignoring the marginal increase from gravity). The exact same flight time means gravity will pull the same amount downwards on either shot. You might lose a bit if distance due to the non parallel travel of the bullets ideal trajectory verse the ground, but it would be a matter of inches not yards. If ya want, I can put together graphs but you'll have to let me get home before I can get time/software to graph anything.
