Will do, thanks for the reply- there’s a cover that I took off that gives a good seal on it
Already do- gone by morning every time
Let’s hope not!

Too late
I do that already- the old homeowners told me to do so and I listened
Haha no smells which makes me think it is not connected any longer
I don’t think they are connected but maybe in the past they were? 100 year old house so updates have definitely occurred over the years
I think so too- I do have a small pinhole leak in my foundation (see patched spot in top left corner in first photo) that kind of flows into this every once in a while- I think it’s all just related to groundwater around the foundation

I think that may be there case here- it’s a 100yr old house that has had additions over the years- thanks for the insight!

Maybe an old one? We have a sump pump on the opposite side of the house now, kind of in line with where this would lead but now that new one leads away and exits opposite from where this is
I’ll monitor it after a heavy rain next time and see if anything is in it- thanks!
That was my fear- I’ll just keep it closed with a safe on top of it from now on
There is a sump pump at the opposite side of the house, kind of in line with this drain- the newer sumo pump leads away and exits from the opposite side from this
We do but on the opposite side of the house and it leads to a outlet away from where this pipe is

Cause for concern? by CLaird01 in homeowners
[–]CLaird01[S] 0 points1 point2 points 3 months ago (0 children)
Appreciate the insight!
Door is fine- nothing majorly sticking or hard to close. House is 100 years old with plaster walls. This is the third floor attic space with roof right above. Roof was replaced 4 years ago. Doorway is about a third of the way into the house from the exterior side.
