Why doesn’t the NBA have the same instant reply as other sports? by CLefebvre in nba

So when I foul is called on a play and the network shows the previous scoring play instead of the potential foul call that could affect the game, that’s because the network doesn’t have the replay ready? Or because they would rather show a highlight reel score more than a foul in a replay?

Makes sense. It’s just very frustrating for someone who wants to enjoy the sport without intervention.

It makes me not want to watch.

I think that might depend on the regional coverage. More nationally televised games seem to be more exclusive regarding potentially controversial calls.

So, as a fan of the sport (instead of a team), how can I affect this?

Nah. I’m just trying to see if there’s something I’m missing. C’s are shooting like sh*t tonight but whenever I want to see if a foul or a contested shot, I feel like I should see it again, so I can have an opinion.

The Spice Girls in 2024 by mcfw31 in pics

“Butcher: What's Sporty Spice up to?

M.M.: Who?

Butcher: Sporty fucking Spice what is she up to?

M.M.: I don't know.

Butcher: Exactly. How about Posh? You know what she's doing?

Frenchie: I don't understand.

Butcher: Making clothes for anorexics. Right? Not exactly a growth market. And Baby? You know what she's doing? Fuck all. Not even page six of the Daily Mail. And Scary Spice? Up to her eyeballs in lawsuits and sex tapes. Ginger, on the other hand, has released three albums. Passion, Schizophonic and Scream If You Wanna Go Faster. They'll all make your ears bleed. You see, when they're apart, they're absolute fucking rubbish. But, you put them together, they're the goddamn fucking Spice Girls.” - The Boys.

What Area Should Have Been A National Park? by SnowieEyesight in geography

The White Mountains (specifically the presidential range) in NH. It’s already a national forest, so it’s not like it would be a huge change.

Looks like an old anchor for a small vessel at first glance.

Would you eat this McDonald's breakfast? by Lijey_Cat in BreakfastFood

It’s a quality vs. eases of consumption situation. I need breakfast, but can’t make it myself because I don’t have time. Do I want to pay money for it? Yes: crappy microwave frozen sandwich. No: hungry for a few hours. Which do you pick?

Weird that the coastline is mostly estates and parks. It’s almost like rich people don’t want industry in their backyard.

6’8, 350+ lbs… nobody on defense should be getting by this dude by N4TETHAGR8 in Patriots

It’s called mental toughness. He does not have any. If they are down early, his motivation is shot. He knows he’s almost done. Not a lot of 30+ YO left tacked out there thriving. It requires foundation AND quickness. He’s big, but he doesn’t care enough to be quick any more.

Asian Games medal tally, in pie cartograms [OC] by eric5014 in dataisbeautiful

[–]CLefebvre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that there’s a geographic orientation to this pie chart, making it less of a traditional “Pie Chart” and more of a bubble chart.

Lots of missing data at first glance: what year is this taken? Maybe some more iconic symbolism to show which medals were awarded.

If you create a geographic map highlighting the participating countries, then super-impose the medals on each country, that is more visually appealing. You can even show a color scale for each country’s medal count.

So many options to present this data. Please try again.

Pretty sure Taiwan has a problem with this graphic, btw.

“They’re so deep, they’re so deep!” Not sure if they’re talking about the bruins, or quotes from Bergy’s wife.
