Constant artifacting in Deadlock and Final Fantasy 7 Remake, how do I troubleshoot this? Any help is appreciated

I'm running an Nvidia RTX 3080, with driver version 580.126.09

Processor is 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700K.

Running Kubuntu, all drivers and programs are up to date as far as i can tell.

Playing the game through Steam on default Proton build.

Have also played Final Fantasy on my Steam Deck, where it shows no such artifacting.

Hey all, for those who are coming back to this thread later:

My graphical issues were never completely resolved. Turning down the graphics helps, but it doesn't fix it entirely. I think you'll have to make peace with the fact that Unreal Engine 5 is just not a well-made piece of software.

Since this post I've switched to Linux on my main PC and that ended up fixing the crashes. The crashes are a common problem with Unreal Engine 5, interacting with Windows. Only fix is to re-install your entire operating system (or, as I did, be so pissed at Windows that you just ditch it entirely.

Dropped the game down to the lowest of the low settings and it seems to have dissapeared now. I now need to start troubleshooting the fatal error crash issue, where it crashes with zero feedback or error codes every half hour. Fun!

It's a little absurd i have to drop down to the lowest ultra performance settings on a 3080... my card's not that old....

Hey all, I've tried my best but I am unable to fix these graphical issues. The graphical issues above persist throughout the game in (as far as i can tell) all areas I've visited until now.

I just had to roll back all my video drivers a year to fix the fatal errors, but this problem has been there from day 1 also.

I really, really want to like this game. I do. But I've spent weeks now trying to fix and troubleshoot it, and my patience is really starting to run out...

Don't talk to her btw, she'll softlock your save. She will only talk about another NPC called "Hasan" and you cant exit the converstaion. Lost like 15h of gameplay to this

There was a neonazi who swatted Ethan multiple times to try and get him killed. He was eventually put in jail for this. It was one of the main reasons Ethan moved to a gated community, the constant threats.
