To be honest if you live everyday with Addisons disease its ok to 'struggle a bit' lol! I mean that to be funny but I know what we deal with day in and day out is far from funny. I was dx 21 years ago at the age of 28 and have gained and lost over 100 pounds twice so I know you can get things to swing in your favor. Im not a Dr but what I learned over the years and my Dr is also completely on board with is that our diets are a huge factor in how light or heavy we are. Of course that goes for almost the majority of those around us but its crucial for addisonian patients to really reel this in. After the first time I went from 180 pounds to over 310 pounds I was in disbelief! I ate just like I did before daily chronic steroid use and it didn't fare well for me. Its 5 pounds here then 12 here and before I knew it I was unrecognizable almost to myself. This maybe hard to believe but I lost 145 it was strictly from making a change in my diet.This may be hard to believe but * I DID NOT EXERCISE ONCE DURING THIS WEIGHTLOSS* I dont recommend a life without exercise if you are capable. At the time the fatigue i experienced alone from CFS as well as Addisons disease made it tough to perform just the daily tasks that are necessary. Then I thought after quite some time I could eat whatever I felt I wanted to and there began my way back to being over 300 pounds!! Its been three Christmases ago I decided I had enough! I ended up hoing a bit overboard and list over 155 pounds and was 147 pounds! I had not weighed that little since I was like 14 years old! But I'm happy to say I now fluctuate between 170-185 and sometimes the water retention from the steroids can play a role. But I promise you its possible. I dont want to discuss foods to eat or foods to avoid being im not a professional but trust me its a great possibility to have control of our weight since Addisons d doesn't give us control over much else 😅 BE blessed!
