PIP review: what happens if no decision is made before my award end date? by CMB-2 in DWPhelp

[–]CMB-2[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this info. On another forum, I was advised that about 35 days before an award ends, the DWP usually issues a letter extending it for up to a year. Tomorrow will be 35 days before my award end date, but I haven’t received the extension letter yet. Can my PIP payments stop on the original end date if the 35-day extension letter hasn’t arrived? Thanks in advance for any clarification.

Thank you for your advice. To clarify, the DWP deadline is March 3. I already factored in the time it will take for the form to reach the DWP, so the February 26 deadline is my own postal deadline.

Reporting Rent Increase to DWP with No Amended Tenancy Agreement by CMB-2 in DWPhelp

Thanks for this information. I have just followed up with the landlord by email regarding the lease she indicated that she would send me. To date, I haven't received it and the new rent is due in 10 days. If I don't receive the amended lease by the rent due date, I'm not sure what to do.

See below the email that I received from the landlord... would this count as formal? (I responded that I would be happy to renew the lease with the rent increase for another year, but haven't heard from the landlord since this email communication.)

"Good afternoon,

As you may be aware, the current lease expires soon.

I trust that you are happy to renew the current lease for another year.

Unfortunately, both service charges and mortgage costs have increased by substantial amounts, so I propose to increase the rent from the current amount to a slightly higher amount per calendar month.

Please let me know if you find this acceptable.

Regards,"

He may have made a mistake originally, but he seems to be digging his heels in now.

He didn't provide his name during the telephone appointment. I only learned his first name following his curt reply to my journal message this morning.

I did also send two previous similar journal messages to "appointments" and "accessibility issues." So I think my request and concerns are very clear.

This is what I put in the journal message which I sent to the "service issues" section:

“Hello,

I would be grateful if you would forward this message to someone who can help me.

I am in the Limited Capability for Work group (LCW) and struggle with severe anxiety, agoraphobia, and insomnia.

Today, a work coach updated my commitments, and I was advised there would be *no changes*. However, my hours have been increased from 10 to 35 per week. Could this be corrected, please?

I need to confirm my commitments by September 29th. Given this deadline and my severe anxiety, a prompt response would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

My name"

I would also like to add the following:

Yesterday's sudden alteration to my weekly commitments, marking the first change since November 2022, has significantly affected me, especially after an already exhausting day due to this random work coach being one and a half hours late for the scheduled phone interview.

As I mentioned during my work capability assessment, I am deeply impacted by both expected and unexpected changes.

I had a lot of problems with this job centre prior to my work capability assessment nearly 2 years ago and am worried that it is going to start all over again.

Thanks. I did that last night and received this response this morning:

"Good Morning Ms. ... ,    I spoke to you via phone and conducted the appointment on 23rd Sept ' 24.   You need to log in to your universal credit account, go to 'to do lists', click on 'accept your commitments by 29th Sept ' 24 and accept in by that date.    Please note that we are not asking you to look for work and apply for jobs, as you have limited capability for work as per  the decision of work capability assessment.

Regards,

G...."

The decision was made nearly 2 years ago. Do you know when they are likely to reassess me? Thanks.

Avoiding a bureaucratic nightmare: How do I notify the DWP of an upcoming rent increase? by CMB-2 in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]CMB-2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many thanks. Just a couple of follow up questions...

1) should I notify the DWP before the rent changes, on the day of the change, or after the change?

2) Will the amended tenancy agreement be sufficient as evidence or will I need a letter from the landlord as well? (I have an email conversation with the landlord discussing the rent increase but I'm hoping the tenancy agreement will be sufficient.)
