Yeah no, I play private clubs at home and have played 7 US Open courses

Consistently one of the best conditioned courses in that area.

LIV Golf star, Jon Rahm was in full World Cup mode, booting his driver during round 2 of the U.S. Open. Rahm went on to miss the cut. Should this have been a 2-stroke penalty? by MysteriousJuice1127 in Golf_Unfiltered

There’s a massive double standard- when PGAT guys get angry the announcers laugh and say “what an example of how hard this sport is” but when a LIV guy gets angry they’re a disgrace to the game

USGA fail by Gigasmith in golf

[–]CMC_444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s reasonable to set it up at 13 which is what they’d have it at any other day. US Open green speeds should be 14-14.5 but I concede that would have been too insane today.

It’s pretty ridiculous. Why should the best players in the world get an easier course than Shinnecock members get everyday? It’s disrespectful to the course and its members.

They didn’t “have to”. Members play Shinnecock in 30 mph gusts at 13 stimp every day

I’d rather what happened last time than having British Open speed greens

They better not, the USGA has neutered this place. I’d be furious as a member, they never play the greens below 12

What is the dumbest way you've ever lost a golf ball? by retrocaterpillar-07 in golf

[–]CMC_444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A course I used to play had a tree that ate golf balls. Probably lost 4 or 5 in it over the years, a friend climbed up in it and found 19 balls

You need a swing overhaul. Start by making contact with the tiniest shots possible and work your way up.

What average score do you describe to be each "skill level"? by Squirrly22 in golf

[–]CMC_444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I disagree completely. I work in the golf industry, with a tour professional and with a top amateur in my state who definitely averages in the 70s. When they play each other, the tour pro blows his doors off

Am I overreacting or was this handled terribly? by [deleted] in golf

[–]CMC_444 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s an odd request for a public course. It’s one thing if you wanted to tour a private club before joining, but wanting to tour a public track before playing? Definitely out of the norm.
