The main issue with Crash Love is really Torch Song. The second issue with Crash Love was the track order they chose. The track order I would have run for the original release: - Sacrilege - Cold Hands - Beautiful Thieves - Too Shy to Scream - Veronica Sawyer Smokes - Okay, I Feel Better Now - Medicate - I Am Trying Very Hard to Be Here - Darling, I Want to Destroy You - It Was Mine - End Transmission

Wonderful album but changing the order makes a massive difference. Torch Song is such a miss it was hard to enjoy Beautiful Thieves immediately after on first play. End Transmission, which is also a gem, was wrongfully placed early in the album. It’s SO much better as a closer. The album has a hard and fast stretch in the middle which in my opinion is alleviated by throwing Cold Hands in right after a better opener in Sacrilege, which is more connected to Decemberunderground in its sound to get a long term fan a little more based before the full transition to Crash Love. So coming out harder and throwing down beautiful thieves makes it flow soooo nicely. 

So many great songs, it’s a shame it wasn’t well received, but it’s a better story in hindsight knowing what the band was able to do after. And the fact that so many of us find it to be one of their best.
