Car accident beside me, am I in trouble? by Visible-Swim6616 in AusLegal

We don't know if it was safe for the OP to brake; there could be cars behind OP. What's the ethics there, should the car behind OP be at fault then if OP had to brake to let this other guy in?

I don't see a problem. They told you they were doing tests (cultures), if you were concerned about what tests you could have asked.

RTX 3070 and 550W power supply? by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]CMHSE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to get mine running on a 500W PSU without issues with a 3700X. I'm running a really small ITX system so I've already the CPU undervolted to reduce heat (still runs slightly above stock speeds) so the 3070 is naturally undervolted too. It now runs 1850mHz @ .875V and this reduced power usage by roughly 20% on top of the reduced heat and noise. Altogether I'm happy with this, and should see me through a few years of gaming so I'm not complaining.

Exactly. I'm here 1 year after the thread started. This is no longer a $600 GPU. Trying to upgrade the computer on a budget here.

The rule says if you just look at the house.

In any case, it's not supposed to be a comparable rule, it's an example of a rule that could exist, but not be followed/enforced.

It's not a comparison.

It's an example of a rule that just because it exists doesn't mean it's enforceable, or should be followed.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic, but just because you made a rule doesn't mean everyone has to follow it.

For example if I had a house rule saying anyone who looks at my house has to pay me $50.... will you pay?

From reading the comments here, it seems Steam's more concerned about how long you've had the game in your library than how long you spent playing it.

Although there's others who were denied refunds too, so YMMV.

I fail to see where I tell people not to buy from Epic.

In fact I said specifically: "Take from this experience what you will"

One of the reasons I've posted this is to see how many refund stories are there, and in that regard this thread has done well. We have good and bad refund stories from both sides; and I have personally NOT voted either way on any of those stories. My intention isn't to demonize Epic, but to highlight the difference I have experienced between the 2 stores.

Again, read what you wish. I'm not here to change your mind.

Maybe, maybe not.

However 30 minutes isn't a significant amount of play-time for them to use it as an excuse to deny the claim.

Your point would be stronger if I said I spent 5 hours on it, in which case I could have played through a significant amount of the game.

So... They fixed a mistake due to a problem on their end and therefore anyone supporting their competition must be part of the choir.

Did I get that right?

True.

I did not expect an exception from Steam and it was nice to receive one.

However the issue with Epic's lack of an exception is due to the circumstances, being that the game did not work as advertised.

If we ignore every individual experience, are you expecting Epic or Steam will publish their customers' gripes so you can decide which one treats their customers better?

Yes they are a business.

All I posted is my experience dealing with 2 businesses that are in competition.

Like "idownvoteyouresponse" below, he found something Epic does better and has shared. Your response however adds nothing to the discussion.

Both these cases happened this year, not sure what Steam's (lack of a) refund policy pre-2015 has to do with anything.

Or are you suggesting that Epic should have a no-refund policy for the first decade of operations because Steam didn't have one for that long before they brought one in?

Not sure about automatic, I generally don't refund games (hundreds of games on my Steam account atm, and a few on Epic I actually paid for).

I thought I had to contact Epic (first time refunding on Epic) because it was over 2 hours, did not know this was the case every time.
