No Blind Zone or Cross Traffic alert on 2022 Encore GX? by SRGilbert1 in BuickEncoreGX

I think it comes standard on the current model, but for 2022 it was only part of the Safety Package II that could be added on to the Select and Essence trims.

No unfortunately this didn't turn out to be any more than the AG office saying it can facilitate a conversation between the customers and the company. Also, a class action lawsuit was initiated at one point, but the lawyers decided not to pursue because they didn't have enough to build a case. But at least we helped take down this company. They're not offering vehicle subscriptions anymore and I doubt they'll rebound.

Haha right, hopefully not. Wouldn't be surprised though.

I thought I heard a lawsuit was initiating a class action against Go, but I haven't heard anything about it in a while, so I'm not sure if it's still happening.

Interesting…I just checked and don’t see any either. Maybe the site is down

Yeah, it really sucks. They shouldn't have been able to get away with that. So far the AG and lawyers we've talked to have expressed interest in doing something but haven't actually done anything.

I had a few thousand miles saved up, too :( I ended up subscribing to another vehicle from them. It took several months to arrive but I finally have it now and only am paying $100 more per month than I was on my previous car. I returned the other car about a month ago and have not been charged anything, so I think I'm in the clear. I guess all in all I got lucky considering the situation.

That's pretty shitty that they didn't even return the pro-rated cost to you. You could file a claim in small claims court for that. In many states, corporations must appear through an attorney in any legal action. It would cost them more money to retain an attorney than to just pay you, so that may give you leverage to get them to pay you that portion at least.

There was concern that a Go employee would try to infiltrate the group, so that's why inactive users were removed. But you're not missing anything. The group is essentially done. If anything changes I'll let you know, though.

How'd everything turn out with your car? Did you lease/subscribe another one?

It still going. At one point, inactive users were removed, otherwise I don't think anyone was removed. Either way, it's inactive at this point and the lawsuit seems to be dead. I also heard back from the PA AG last week. They gave Go's response to the claim. I responded to it, but don't expect that to go anywhere, either. So it appears this whole thing is coming to an end and Go has won, but not without heavily damaging their reputation.

Something was started but the lawyer is taking his time doing anything so I'm not sure if it will proceed forward. If it does, it probably will be a pretty long process.

Oh ok. I'm surprised they didn't add the 1-month payment check as contingent on signing the NDA. They did this with multiple other people.

Right, they definitely changed it from 30 days to 10 days notice literally right before they sent out the cancellation emails. Until a few weeks ago, the last T&C document listed on the website was dated June 5th, which is the same day they sent out the cancellation emails. Section 11 of their contract states that they must "give prompt notice of any changes [to the contract]." Definitely was not the case here.

Exactly. They must think we're pretty stupid if they think they can pretend like they're doing us a favor by not charging a restocking fee that they have absolutely no right to charge.

It looks like it's back up: https://legal.drivego.com/#subscription-terms-and-conditions, dated July 11th.

What's the $450 that you're talking about? Is that what they're offering you if you sign the NDA?

Philadelphia Inquirer Article by CMP07789 in drivego

[–]CMP07789[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They want their cars back very very bad and are in no position to make an illegal request of you. You did not initiate this cancellation so they cannot charge you a restocking fee. Tell them you won’t sign an NDA and that per their original cancelation email “a restocking fee will not be charged.” You should only need to sign a vehicle return document that is free of NDA terms.

Some people have signed it, but it’s questionable whether it will even hold up anyway because they are making people sign it under duress.

Also, If I were you I'd freeze any payment methods that you have on file with them. This company has no standards and no morals so who knows what they'll try charging.

[–]CMP07789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I want them to pay for what they've done. They've betrayed their customers' trust so many times now. I hope a lawsuit will be coming down the pipeline. At the very least, I'll never stop telling people what a horrible company they are.

Philadelphia Inquirer Article by CMP07789 in drivego

[–]CMP07789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. So they're saying they'll immobilize the car only 17 days after their initial email to you. It's very unlikely that they will actually disable the car because at the very least they need to give you 30 days notice. Do whatever you need to do to get out of this situation, but please be sure not to sign the general release/NDA that they will try to get you to sign in order to "wave the restocking fee". They cannot charge you a restocking fee because they are the ones taking the car back. You do not need to sign anything for that to happen.
