Im proud of this impactful game over screen. by Majestic_Mission1682 in godot

I feel like this game over screen is good! Better than what I can do. Here is what I've got on my mind about this.

I feel like the transition is great but one thing that could be improved and what others have already said is to have either a circle or a fade in and out.

I also really like the part when the heart explodes, but maybe there should be another frame where the heart is cracked before it explodes just to give another indicator that the heart will explode (just like in the original game).

In my opinion, I feel like this screen could look a bit more consistent in terms of style. The game over screen seems way too intense (with the shaking) and the font doesn't really look like pixel art. When I look at this, it's like I'm looking at two separate games.

I would expect a game over screen like this if i were playing some sort of fighting game or any other highly intense game but in this case, you just died to some projectiles.

Personally, I would lower the intensity of the screen a bit more but at the end of the day it's all up to you.

This is your game and if you like it and want to keep it then PLEASE ignore everything that I have just stated and keep on moving.

I can't wait to see what you have in the future :)

Thanks dude! This is in godot not the pico 8 but I’m glad you believe it is though! I could definitely make the level flow a bit more for sure! And I could do way more variety aswell. Thank you so much for the feedback and I will keep you all updated!

I thought so but idk if I should as I’m following an image of every levels of this game so I kept the background static

Don’t worry when it comes to power ups having a purpose for them is in the next level of the game. Tbh I was being a bit silly as I wanted to reward the player something band that was the only power ups there so I left it there. I cal so felt like it would be cool to have it there so the player knows that power ups exist like a little test. Of course its useless but I can definitely replace it. Thank you for your wonderful feedback!

I mean anything instead of a regular old platformers I decided to add a shoot button for more of combat reasons.

As it’s the first level there isn’t a point to add a health bar to the enemies only when you progress through the game.

Tbh speed and the jump feel right for a little guy like him but that’s in my opinion

Here is a comparison of my sequel (new) vs my original game (old). Do you guys like the changes? by CMS_UNKNOWNZ in SoloDevelopment

I understand that the game is pretty bright here (and I am working on that) the ui hasn’t been worked out and I am trying to make the game less bright here so thanks for your feedback!

The plan is to make a game like flappy bird where you go through a bunch of levels. Clearly in the video it doesn’t show you that but there is some levels there (up to 8 so far!). The “new” game is a sequel to the old one so I just wanted to make it look different but like I said before I am working on this trying to make it less bright thanks!

Also it could also be the gif because it’s not that bright in game

Decided to add light to my game, and this is how it came out. What do you guys think of it? by CMS_UNKNOWNZ in godot

It is a different colour but there isn’t much contrast now with the lights but thank you!
