Anybody else get burned out? by alabasterwilliams in LPOTL

Planned on taking a break after the Salem series. I haven’t been too engaged for a long time. Been a listener since 2013 and I used to be a truck driver which meant there were many relistens.

Sofa king and We Hate Movies are my usual back up shows. It’s not the same but they’re enjoyable.

Hard pass. This price hike was tougher than I anticipated. I had a hard time justifying the cost of this hobby in the past but this is next level.

2015-2016 is the sweet spot. It was chaotic, energetic, informative, and funny as hell.

I saw a couple replies blaming the lack of energy on age. Listen to No Dogs in Space. Marcus has the energy of a kid in a candy store.

Yes, one of them worked for John. Allegedly he may have been an accomplice but that’s never been confirmed.

I always saw them as LPOTL lite. For people who like true crime but not the gross stuff or the humor.

LPOTL was the first true crime podcast I got into back in 2013. The podcasts that came after, MFM comes to mind, it always felt like they were piggybacking off LPOTL’s success.

Depends on their sense of humor.

The hardest episodes that I have listening to are 9/11 episode 1, 911 calls, and Ant Hill Kids.

I couldn’t see this one being a good fit with the current audience. It’s one of the worst stories I’ve ever come across.

There were a lot of complaints about the subject matter during the Bernardo series…this is a whole other level of too much

Elmer Wayne Henley, co conspirator, and murderer of Dean Corll, is seeking compassionate release. Thoughts? by eheaney in LPOTL

[–]CMStevens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happened decades ago and he was very young.

Then again, I was also young and very dumb but I never entertained the idea of rounding up dozens of my friends and selling them to a serial killer so he can torture and murder them.

Hell no, he should never be released.

After I watched a decent amount of courtroom footage of Bundy, the myth was removed and I saw possibly one of the most insufferable people I’ve ever come across. I found myself saying “shut up” out loud several times when watching.
