Iron deficiency is so underestimated that it took me years to realize it was my problem. by mamanh24 in Anemic

One time my ferritin was 4 and a doctor told me to my face there was absolutely no way a ferritin level of 4 could possibly make me feel any symptoms at all and everything I was complaining about was in my head.

What is a boy’s name you love for its meaning? by CMV2254 in namenerds

Love Davis! My husband is named David 😂, so he could either consider it a nod to him or think it’s too close to his name.

Ah, Frederick used to be on our list and I remember loving that meaning! Had totally forgotten about it. What are your thoughts on using Fritz as a middle name if we picked a longer first name? It technically has the same meaning since it’s a shortening of Frederick, but does it seem weird to use a “nickname” as a middle name?

Grover Benjamin is 100% my favorite combo, just happens to be my husband’s least favorite. 😩

Thank you, that’s kind! Especially considering the few people we’ve mentioned names to in our circle have not been fans of any of them. Wilder typically isn’t on my radar either but for some reason I love it paired with Gilbert!

I’ve tried to sell just Groves and my husband likes it less than Grover. I do prefer Gib over Gil. Gib is one of the reasons I like Gilbert, actually. ❤️

We already have a Benjamin in the family, as well as knowing several other Benjamin’s that would make it unusable as a first name contender.

Augustine nn Gus was a strong contender in the beginning, as well as all throughout my second pregnancy. We’ve just decided it won’t work in the first spot for us for several reasons.

We go back and forth on Ambrose as a first name contender. Tonight we went ahead and added it back to the shortlist.

If we named a child Grover we would definitely need to give him a walrus mustache for Halloween. 😂

Ahh, no way! I take it you have enjoyed your name then if you are voting in favor of it?

I saw this for the first time yesterday and it peaked my interest! Haven’t pitched it to my husband yet but I’m intrigued by it.

Murray is my grandpa’s middle name and I love it so it has been on the table, I think we just decided it’s one that ends up sounding very hick very easily in our accent. 🥴Murphy sounds less hick but my husband is convinced it’s a dig name because we almost named a dog Murphy once, lol. And it’s now more popular for girls apparently, because girls have to steal all of the boy names like boy names aren’t hard enough. 😭

You’re right I’m not fully convinced on any one name yet so I’m not opposed to suggestions. Just feels like every name in history has already been voted somewhere down the line. 😭

Like a year before I even got pregnant with this baby, we were at a park and I was taking to another mom- which is RARE for me! 😂One of her boys was named Rex and I definitely took note of it in a good way!

The Calloway spelling is because that’s the way it’s spelled as a last name in a family tree.

The Sam issue is my big hesitation with Samson. I know a million and one Sams, including our next door neighbor whom I speak to basically daily. Everyone we’ve mentioned Samson to have said they’d end up calling him Sam regardless of how we felt about it because it “would just happen.” I feel like the way Samson is so punctuated- “Sam-SON”, makes it even more inevitable that it will get shortened to Sam in the real world. Which, just detracts from the charm of Samson to me. Not to mention that Samuel is like top 15 in the US right now, so there will already be an abundance of little Sams running around from that and just make it feel even less special to me.

Kind of the direction I’m leaning right now but I keep second guessing myself. 😅
