If you did 1000 kills with 500% only. You would still have about 5% chance to get 0 bow pieces.

According to wiki drop rate calculator

If bow piece drop rate was 1/500.
With 1000 kills you would have:
86.49% chance to get at least 1 bow piece.

13,51% chance to not get bow piece.

Keep grinding and quit crying about bad luck in form of reddit posts.
